How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Could see dust in the corners of the carpet. Hard to figure out the room air conditioning for an English speaker. Not sure how to adjust it.
Super convenient location. Easy to communicate using Booking.com prior to arrival. Great variety of food for breakfast.

The room was pricey for the size compared to all the other places we stayed in Japan. That said, rooms are generally small in Tokyo anyway.
Great location—about a 10-minute walk to central Ginza. Great food options are close by. A few train stations are within a 10-minute walk. Convenient stores are around the corner. The hotel was clean and tidy.

The very last staff member I spoke to was very rude because we did check out at 11:25 on 17th of April (which was previously discussed by a phone conversation )where we knowledged to pay a fee for late check out if needed to be ,when we came down I did greet her saying good morning and she replied in a loud voice :KEYS her maners and tone of voice were so un Japanese just appalling , I didn’t say anything to her at the time … just shocking
We liked the location , so close to beautiful shops and great restaurants! the room was nice ,clean and not big but not too small ether all staff members were very kind and helpful…except for one

Room too small to even open two middle size suitcases. There was no space under the bed to store the suitcases

Apt location near Ginza 12 mints walks from Tokyo station as well as near to Ginza station Convenient stores like Familymart and 7eleven are available nearby along with many restaurants Clean and comfortable stay

When we checked in, the bathroom was apparently not cleaned and smelly. I cleaned it myself before we used it . We requested to have it cleaned and they cleaned it everyday beginning on our 2nd day of stay.
The friendliness and very accomodating, attentive staff. We also liked the location as it is close to the shopping district and subway.

The wifi was poor and we had no hot water in the sink tap. The room had no place for our luggage so it was a bit of a struggle with two trollies and a suitcase

Location was great. Walking distance from major attractions and train stations were close to hop on the Yamanote line to all other major cities in Tokyo. Room was smaller than expected but typical of Tokyo.

Not very much room for suitcases on the floor, but we made it work!
Everything was as expected! The staff were very kind, and allowed us to store our luggage with the hotel after check out for the day. They also lend out umbrellas.

We wish the wifi was faster. This is our only complaint

Rate was quite expensive and a late check out would cost yen1000
Excellent helpful staff.great location in a quiet street 2 blocks from the main area in Able to leave bags after checkout which was great as my flight was delayed 3.5 hours.

This place is pretty nice and it’s in a great location. It’s close to train stations and the Ginza neighborhood is fun to walk around at the end of the day. The breakfast buffet was excellent even after four days. Highly recommended.

The room was very small but this is normal for japanese hotels. Ginza is a very high end shopping neighbourhood which wasn't really our vibe. But the hotel was priced reasonably compared to shinjuku area.
Great hotel, clean and conformable. Really nice breakfast. Ginza is a very central location in tokyo too for getting around the city and also to go to other locations eg Airports, shinkansen to other cities.
