How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

we got a room which is a bit small for 2 people
location is great, a few walk from the magome station. actually the hotel is just beside the station.

Rooms have physical keys instead of key cards. There are smoking rooms on one level so occasionally you will smell some smoke through the ventilation so if you are sensitive to that you may want to look elsewhere. Ok value for what it is.
Friendly staff that mostly knew English at the front desk.

Double bed is too small. Curtain is unable to block sunlight and might not be the best start of the day if you wish to sleep in slightly.

room and decor were very dated, facilities were basic.
location was perfect. a very nice Western style Cafe at the back. cute windy streets to explore. subway is literally next door. you can board here for marital without getting off the train at all!

Bit too small. Need thicker curtains to block light. Cleaning staff could be a bit quieter at 10am.
Nice clean room. Staff really nice. Restaurant 24h great. Next to train great.

The ventilation on the shower/bath could leave the room quite stuffy, and needed the ac a lot.
Very affordable hotel next to an easy train line into Tokyo. Clean facilities and supportive staff.

The room wasn’t big enough for two people however everything else made it a pleasant stay.
The room was very small for two people with no storage space whatsoever. However, the staff were very pleasant and the room was clean. The amenities that were available in the lobby exceeded expectations. The hotel is very well located with a FamilyMart across the street and a station entrance a 30 second walk from the front door. Will definitely return alone!

Not usb charges. Only japonese plugs.🫣 The pillows.
Confotable bed. Amazing breakfast. Facilities, supermarkt, metro station. All the products to use at the room. The helpfull staff . Nice kimonos!! 😉

No free bottled water like the usual hotels. Not much shops around the area except family Mart and Aeon. No extra key, they gave only 1 key for 2 guests. The room is dated.
Very close to Meguro station, the sheets were clean. Strong hot and cold shower. Good for a night stay.

The hotel could work more on cleanliness. Although they do daily cleaning and change of towels, a couple of things within the room are dusty, found some hair strands on the changed towels.
The location and accessibility were awesome! Although space is small (smaller than our hotel in Kyoto!), I think it is decent enough to have a place to crash at night and keep your things safe.

It's located in a predominately residential area so there are limited options for restaurants.
Tokyo Inn is right next to the subway station so it was convenient. The staff was polite and helpful.

Nothing; I like the simplicity that comes with affordability.
This was a very affordable, clean and quiet hotel, footsteps from the Magome train station. The room is for business so it basically fits a bed, small desk, bathroom and narrow hall to the door. That was fine for my stay, but it might not be suitable for those looking to stay for tourism and a want to place to return to to relax.
