Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesSadly no lift, so had to carry bags to the first floor, but that was the only downside really.
Lovely guesthouse. Location was amazing, close walk to lots of sights and very easy to get to bus stops. Rooms were clean, a little small but that was ok. Owner was lovely and very helpful, check in and out was a breeze.

ItalyGreat location near a bus stop and the royal tombs, just 5-10 minutes walk from the lively city center. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Good choice for breakfast and very friendly staff.

CanadaRooms and bathroom was a little small, but expected.
It is a lovely guesthouse, and very quiet. We barely heard anyone walk by our room. I thought I had seen it being advertised as a quiet hostel, and it most definitely was. We stayed here for two nights -- only on the second night did we see anyone. Both room (double bed) and bathroom were small, but clean. There was a split system in the room and a flat screen TV. Beds were comfy. I'd say it was medium hardness. It was a convenient location, and there was a convenience store less than 50m away. The traditional area is about a 20-minute walk away, and the international area less than that. We walked both a few times, visited the nearby tombs, bridges, and parks. This hostel is in a very walkable location, but buses are just as readily available. Who I think was the host did not speak much English, but we checked in without any issues. She also let us check in quite early (around noon), so the room must not have been used the night before. Still, it was very kind of her. As for the shared area, there is no kitchenette, but for breakfast, there was hard-boiled eggs, toast with butter and/or strawberry jam, and drip coffee. I'd stay here again if we come back to Gyeongju.

SwitzerlandEverything was alright.
The owner was very sweet, she also let us into our room earlier than the regular check-in time. The breakfast is simple but we didn‘t expect more, it was enough for us. It was clean, comfortable and the location is great! Close to the bus terminal, bike rentals, restaurants and touristic stuff.

PortugalRoom was a bit cramped. Shower setup is traditional Korean so the bathroom gets wet easily.
The location is extremely convenient. It is close to the bus terminals, and there are local buses which can take you to the train station for the KTX. At the same time, it is very close to the main tombs and attractions. Also liked the shoe storage at the entrance.

SwitzerlandThe room a little small for 2 people. there is no space for, 2 medium suitcases. There are no hangers for the clothes. We had a small window, which overlooks the construction site with their protection at 50cm. and at 7 a.m. work began. We were disappointed.
The location couldn't be better.

SpainNoises like showers or toilets from other rooms but thankfully not after late hours. The rooms are a bit small so not a lot of space for luggages. Like in general in Korea the open showers. Not a big fan of having the floor full of water. A shower curtain would be great
Bed was comfy. It had like a warming blanket for cold days. Having a little fridge with free water bottles. The hostel Is very well located, so close to the tombs. You have to leave your shoes in small lockers at the entrance. Free breakfast with coffee, bottled orange juice, boiled eggs, toasts, butter and jam. Not so much space for having breakfast so you have to be early or wait. Only two parking spots in front of the door but we had the chance to park there
