Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesThe luggage can only be stored until 3pm. We had a late night flight (12:45 midnight) but we were forces to leave as early as 3pm and head over to the airport because the staff did not allow us to leave our luggages beyond 3pm. They do not provide bath towels. Plus, they only provide a medium size towel that isn’t enough to dry your body and hair (waist length).
The place is conveniently located at Myeongdong shopping district… Restaurants are very much accessible and the train station is close to the main road.

United StatesThe mattress is kind of hard. However, this is just a personal preference.
The room is very clean. The location is excellent. The staff is friendly. We had a long fight and arrived very early, the owner let us check in an hour early, it was a very much appreciated act. the economy room is small but the owner did advise us about it and it was no surprises and as expected. We managed it just fine. It is very thoughtful of the hostel to provide umbrellas for the guests, while we were worried about not having umbrella on the rainy days. And the weight scale in the hallway is definitely another thoughtful gestures.

TurkeyRoom was a bit small but still practical. It was enough for my expectation.
I like that it is in the center but still quiet when you close the window. I liked the people work there. They were helpful. I liked that there was a roof to smoke and chill. Because it is hard to smoke in Korea. Free water, wifi and leaving luggage after check out. I might stay there again. Definitely recomend it.

CyprusReally small rooms, but I travelled alone, so for me this space was enough.
The location is really comfortable. I was surprised, because I was afraid that it was a noisy area. But luckily inside of the rooms was quiet. The room and shower cabin were really clean.

AustraliaThe accommodation is as described, extremely convenient location in the heart of Myeongdong with easy access to subway and bus. Small and minimal room but comfortable stay for a single person for 7 nights. Probably too tight for a couple or more than one person for a long stay. Tea and coffee not provided, but there is cold and hot water and microwaving facilities for food and drinks bought from convenience stores within walking distance around the area. Towel provided is face towels only, so if that bothers you then bring your own towel :) Toilet is in the same spot as shower so be prepared for a wet toilet. Room is made up and bins are emptied every second night.

CanadaMan at front desk wasn't too happy. Did not allow any guests to come in, not even a friend to wait in lobby. Very strict with using the common area dishes. Could have made our stay better if we felt more welcome. Mattress' are razor thin. Some may like but it's essentially a board. No guests are allowed inside the rooms or the lobby entrance. We had my grandmothers cousin come up and waited for her as she used the restroom. the man at the front desk did not like this.
Location is hard to find at first. But the location is center Myeongdong and highly recommended. Rooms are clean. Showers are nice and hot. Luggage storage available early and late checkout.

United Arab Emiratesthe size of room is toooo small for it's value. my M size luggage laying on the floor, there was no space for my foot to step on the floor, unless I will closed my luggage and keep it upright, or step-on the top of my luggage.
location is great! very accessible with convenient store and restaurant around Myeongdong market and street food. East to find and closed to metro and bus stations.

United KingdomThe single room was tiny, but I managed as I was alone. Walls were a little thin, woken by cleaners hoovering outside, but as I was getting up to sightsee, it didn't bother me,it was a great location.
Location right in the heart of myeondong. 5 min walk to subway. Shopping, restaurants, money exchange, on your doorsteps. Use naver maps and you walk to the Palace comfortably from there. The night was so much fun, street food stalls everywhere. In the subway station there are loads of more budget friendly clothes shops, nice stylish winter coats. I wished I'd notice earlier. Cheaper than on the streets. In all this small hotel had all I needed for my stay.

United KingdomMy room was very small (bed was wall to wall with no space on either side), though as a solo traveller it didn't really matter. Mattress was quite firm, although my other hotel near Incheon was also like that, so perhaps that's the norm in Korea. TV in the lobby plays videos out loud all night, but not particularly loudly and it didn't really bother me. I will say watch out for the hidden step by the lift because I hit my toe on it and it was bruised and sore for the whole trip, though that's not really the hotel's fault!
This hotel was everything I needed as a solo traveller. Excellent location, helpful staff who spoke English, excellent wifi, good air conditioning, felt safe and secure, regular cleaning, drinking water and hot water for ramen 24/7. The cost was good vs other hotels in the area although still perhaps quite a lot for a small room/hotel with no breakfast etc. but I still enjoyed my stay very much

GermanyYou'll have a korean bathroom, so the shower head is connected to the sink and there is no dedicated room for showering, you just do it next to the toilet, so the small bathroom with be completely wet after showering - its not a problem, you should just be aware of it

Our stay at Philstay Myeongdong Metro was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but cozy, clean and exactly what we needed, a bed and shower. Philstay is right in the middle of the Myeongdong shopping district and also near two subway lines. Definitely will stay here again, thanks for having us! Thank you Philstay, until next time!

United StatesDidn’t find out until we checked in that you can’t flush toilet paper down the toilet. I don’t feel comfortable just throwing dirty toilet paper in the waste basket, so anytime we used the restroom we would have to strip and shower/rinse.
