Perfect place to stay and do the walks/tours from Ella. It’s 10/15 min walk from station - though it is up a mud track/stairs through the trees so tuktuk is better if you have luggage (there’s an alternative road). Being up in the trees is what makes this place so lovely, sat out on the balcony listening to and watching all the birds. The room is very cozy and it felt like a perfect oasis away from Ella town but it’s only a few minutes walk to the centre. The hosts are lovely and prepared me an amazing (huge) Sri Lankan breakfast, kindly without spice so it was the first one I could really enjoy all the flavours! I’ll remember this place forever.

The room was super clean, comfortable and spacious. The hosts are such kind, caring people. They prepared us a lovely welcome tea on our arrival and really lovely breakfasts.The location is excellent, only 5 minutes from the town, through a shortcut. They organised well priced transport to our next destination and were so happy and generous to help in any way. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend Dhanudi Homestay.

It was a beautiful well equipped room and the hostess was warm, welcoming and very accommodating. There were lots of small touches to make the stay more homely - a wee fridge, earbuds, jug etc. The breakfasts were great - egg hopper, hoppers, sambal, sweet pancake, fruit and juice. The hostess provided it early - 5am - to accommodate my travel needs. Stayed two nights, could easily have stayed more.

The family are so helpful and kind, they really looked after us. The location is so close to town, just a short walk through a few local houses, felt very safe. The hosts have been fabulous at organising drivers for us all around Sri Lanka and at very reasonable prices.

Situated around 5 minutes from the hustle and bustle in a small local village. Room is clean and comfortable- no aircon but it was cool enough with just the fan. Owner is so kind and can’t help you enough. Breakfast was western or Sri Lankan- heaps of food.

Host and his family is wonderful. I had a really nice welcome. She gave me a take away box with breakfast as I had to leave early. The room was nice, big and very clean. I had a really wonderful time.

Everything was perfect.

This is probably the best place I stayed my whole time in Sri Lanka! It was spacious, clean, modern, comfortable, and so nice. The owners were so kind and helpful. I didn't want to leave. I had plenty of space, more than enough to roll out my yoga mat and do yoga. One night I didn't go out, just so I could stay in my nice, cozy room! Haha. So lovely. It's also about a 45 minute walk from the room to the top of Little Adam's Peak! The breakfast was great, and they filled my reusable water bottles for me. Just perfect!

It’s quite humid, but that’s the tropics for you

Nirosha was an amazing hostess! She made me feel very welcome, made an amazing breakfast, catered to my allergies, and even made me dinner one night when I asked if it was possible. Really enjoyed that pittu 🙌🏼 Chilled in a beanbag with my book on the porch, and with a shortcut through the jungle you’re in the town centre in just minutes. I wanted to stay two more nights, but she was fully booked.

Great location. Very quiet and with an easy short cut into town. Nirosha is a wonderful host and made herself available on WhatsApp for questions whenever we needed. The comfiest bed we have had in all of Sri Lankan travels! Lovely breakfast and beautiful veranda.

Everything! The hosting family is simply amazing! We were greeted with a cup of coffee and loved the place on first sight. The room and bathroom were very clean with hot water, a kettle, fridge, hairdryer, toiletries, etc. It looked fairly new and warm nicely decorated. The location is great, quiet with a nice view at breakfast (which was delicious and plenty, you can choose between western or Sri Lankan) and close enough to the main street. The host‘s brother showed us around in his Tuktuk and would have also helped us with everything we needed. The wife organized a cookery class for us to attend the first night we got there. Would definitely stay there again! Can’t think of a better location, accommodation or host family to stay at in Ella.

We were originally staying at another place in Ella, however unfortunately, it was not clean (dirty sheets & pillows, bugs, stains etc). So we were desperate for somewhere else - Dhanudi Homestay place was perfect, it was pristinely clean, comfortable and conveniently located (5 min walk from Main Street of Ella). The host was incredibly friendly and approachable, and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home, which was so appreciated after the horror stories at the other place we stayed at. I couldn’t recommend the place more :) thank you so much

Awesome host!!! Very clean with all amenities if anything extra we needed they ready to provide. We requested for Sri Lankan dinner one night. The dinner was excellent with very reasonable price. Every morning our host made fresh Sri Lankan breakfast which included Freshly squeezed fruit juice and plate of fruits. We loved our breakfast. Would highly recommend it.

This was our best stay in Sri Lanka. The property is new, well decorated and clean. It has all the amenities you may need. The hosts were very very kind. We had the Sri Lankan breakfast and it was amazing! We highly recommend this place! They can also help you with trips from Ella such as safari.

Wi-Fi can be a little choppy and the water pressure in the shower could be better

Dhanudi homestay is a nice, cozy and quiet stay in Ella. The room and bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was amazing (!!) and the hosts are always there to help. There is also a short cut with a 10 min walk to Ella town. Also a nice walk to the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s peak. Great coffee!
