Our time at Happy Horizon Home Stay was truly delightful. Surrounded by breathtaking views and the soothing sounds of a nearby waterfall, we felt transported to a serene oasis. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and provided the perfect sanctuary for relaxation. What made our stay truly memorable was the genuine warmth and hospitality of the hosts, who made us feel like cherished guests from the moment we arrived. We were particularly impressed by the delicious breakfast served promptly at 6:30 am to accommodate our plans, and the playful presence of a friendly dog added an extra touch of joy to our experience. While parking was a bit tricky for minivan cars, the hosts kindly arranged transportation to town via TukTuk, ensuring our convenience. Overall, our stay at Happy Horizon Home Stay exceeded all expectations. It's a hidden gem that we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming retreat amidst the beauty of nature.

We had the most beautiful stay. Chandy and her family were absolutely wonderful with our children. The amazing views, wonderful room and delicious breakfasts made the stay such a memorable one. We’re already planning a return visit.

We traveled over 3 weeks staying at 9 different accomodations. I waited till the end of our trip to do reviews since I think it is important to put them in the context of the country and not western expectations. This accomodation was amazing. Fantastic value for money. You are the only guests from what I can tell in a very spacious room with bathroom. It is quirky in a real cool way. You have your own patio overlooking the area which includes a waterfall if you stand in the right spot and the train going by. This is an accomodation you can waste the day away at and feel relaxed and safe while watching the wildlife in the trees. The location turns out to be a great surprise. Our driver had to transfer us and our luggage to the accomodation tuk tuk who brought us to the property but once you are there you can take a short cut up the stairs and walk along the train tracks to get to Ella town and then further to the 9 Arch bridge or the other direction to go to the waterfall and Ella rock. This is easier than doing the bendy steep hill. But the hill has great views as well. Breakfast was fantastic as well and the hosts were so friendly but left you alone if you liked. The mosquito net didn't have holes and the bed was comfortable. There was hot water in the shower and everything was spacious and comfortable. We had a tea kettle. Paying was no issue.

An amazing family living in a small little paradise. Sleeping with the sound of the waterfall and admiring monkey, peacocks and squirrels while enjoying a home made breakfast! Chandy and her family were a dream and our two year old girl had an amazing time! I can’t recommend this place enough and if we are to come back to Ella we have no doubts about our accommodation

From the moment we walked in we felt like at home . Chandy and her family are so lovely and warm , extremely attentive and did everything to make us feel welcome . The room is cosy and completely immerse in the surrounding nature . We loved falling asleep to the sounds of the nearby waterfall and crickets. They also offer in site tuk tuk to drop you into town . Chandy is such a warm and attentive host. Breakfast is fabulous. The homestay is beautifully located with view of the mountains and waterfall. Chandy helps out with everything and really goes out of her way. One example: we did our laundry while we were there but because of the rain it didn’t dry. So Chandy ironed most of it dry on the morning we took off.

Everything was excellent. The owner welcomed us hospitably and very nicely. Breakfast was prepared with great care and there was always more than we needed. We felt part of the family and that was the best thing about staying here - it was truly a home stay. The sounds of a nearby waterfall and the observation of fauna that were at our fingertips were wonderful - peacocks, monkeys, squirrels - everything was looking into our windows :)

This homestay is everything that you would hope for. It’s away from all the noise of the town yet still quite close. You feel you are in a tree house and the view is just lovely. Chandy is an amazing host and cannot do enough for you. Our room was perfect and had everything we needed as a family of 4. Our breakfast was outstanding! Highly recommend.

Lovely spot, staying with a very friendly family. Our seven year old girls loved playing with Chandy’s girls. Accommodation was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Chandy was super helpful organising things and also offers an amazing massage. Highly recommended.

Super, super friendly host-family. They are so nice and help you with everything. Definitely one of the best home stays we had in Sri Lanka, for a very good price. Very good WiFi, amazing terrace in the jungle. We were lucky and saw monkeys while having breakfast.
