The fan provided in the room didn’t work.

The property is away from the Main Street of the town and therefore offers peace and quiet but a short walk to the shops and restaurants via the railway track. The room was comfortable and clean. The view was amazing and the property itself is very cosy.

Perfect place for relaxation. A little out of the way from town but if you’re looking to unwind this is the place for you! Beautiful views, great breakfast, and an excellent deal all around! Tried to stay extra nights but was fully booked.

Hello everyone, we must share our experience with Mount Shadows stay. It was absolutely marvellous! The accommodation is located on the hillside, you can see the famous train going underneath and in a distance you hear the waterfall. It provides calm, comfort and loveliness together. We also had a generous and tasty breakfast from very kind hostess. Really recommend!

First, Sanjee, the landlord is a really nice guy. You will love him! The accommodation is about 20 min walk (at the railway) away from the main road. But this is definetly a big plus, because the only sounds you will hear will come from the nature itself (and the train but it is not scheduled on a high frequency). The view from the little terrace is amazing. We had a varied breakfast every morning which was prepared was a lot of love. 10/10 would recommend this accommodation.

The only small thing is that if you are self driving, the property is located at the bottom of quite a steep rough track, which can seem daunting but just take it slow and it’s ok! Not a problem for local drivers though!

The sun comes up early, a sleeping mask helped me.

Quiet with a view of Ella Rock and the waterfall, far enough from town to totally relax, but close enough to walk to dinner. You are already on the trail to Ella Rock. Train views are fun as well. We like the big window in the shower, made you feel like showering in nature. Delicious breakfast and very kind host.

It did not bored us but the moment the sun goes up you wake up since there are no blackouts. So be prepared to wake up early 😂

Amazing view up the mountains, yet 5-10 min from city center with a tuk tuk! The room is adorable; breakfast is freshly cooked for you at the time you ask and staff are polited, nice and very warm.

We drove our own tuktuk and it was slightly challenging for us to drive in and out the bumpy roads to reach the accom.

Host was a delight, view is spectacular, at such affordable price it's a steal. Host's brother is able to arrange tuktuk pick up or drop off at a small price as well to town, saved us the walking.

Amazing view from the bed/room! You're completely surrounded by nature! It's 5mins walk to the train track and 15min walk to city centre. Breakfast is amazing with fresh fruit juices. Staff were very helpful and kind!

- very nice & quiet place outside the busy town - amazing view from terrace into the mountains - downtown Ella is 15 min max. walking distance - perfect location to start hikes - amazing value for money - great breakfast - laundry service available (perfect quality) We really want to highlight Geetha as an outstanding host! She was so nice and helped us a lot when we needed assistance. Her reaction time was amazing as well!

It is very inside in Ella so it's not that you can do to and fro many times between the room and the tourist location. We reached the place around 2-3 PM after the places where we want to cover that day and spend the rest of the day at the place.

Rooms and location. Even though it is very inside, the location itself is great. They have various trees all around, many avocado trees, banana trees, and very beautiful flowers. The rooms are well maintained and have everything needed. They serve tasty and fresh breakfast too. You can spend the whole day reading there. You also see trains going. Beautiful sceneries.
