In Sri Lanka one must go with the flow. The Hotel should keep up its positive and very good service on this level and work hard in order to maintain it.

We came for wedding and we felt very good in the hotel - everything was perfect: room, bathroom clean, TV and wifi working, breakfast, lunch, dinner, the restaurant, the bar and cocktails - superb. The pool - excellent. Close to the ocean to try - how is it to swim there. Helpful staff, great opportunity to have perfect massage treatment. Close to Colombo, helpful guy Banda (not from the hotel) took us for private shopping treat- have a good health, Banda! Wedding management did run well - on the beach we experienced marvellous Sri Lankan traditional wedding with 100+ guests. Everything was great and we're coming back - great value for money. It was a real Paradise!

I liked the buffet dinner but not the seafood restaurant. Expensive and very poor quality and bad service.

The breakfast was very good with big variety. The swimming pool was great. The attendent very helpful. The staff in the buffet dining room were great.

The hotel could do more to make the beach more inviting and useful and perhaps might add to the appeal. A boardwalk from the outdoor area to the beach would be awesome. There were minor slips that are not worth mentioning given the overall service. However there are some hotels in Colombo that are comparable and less pricey.

The location worked perfectly for me, allowing for easy family visits while maintaining my own place to stay. The food was great, at both the buffet and the Fishery restaurant. It is a nice quiet place for family as well as those looking for a quiet getaway and to work remotely.

Front counter cashier male fair man with pimple marks in the face, age between 38 to 45. Date 4th January time 13:30, the man's behaviour is rude kept us waiting. It was the day of my 1year old baby. Cashier took a phone call right before me without doing my 30 second transaction, at my face he raise his finger to wait 1 min with the face of a alien, I said okay but he to 5min kept us waiting calling here and there, my baby was asking milk and we want to change his nappy, it our baby's first birthday the very reason we went there just to celebrate I would have extended my stay but that brakes our hearts not the whole week here no no. When the first impression is bad everything else is. But food was delicious thanks to chefs. I recommend the person by the door in white uniform an old person to that cashiers position. Arrogant people makes things worse, even the lady by the next seat in the counter with specs on also complained the guy take care of the customer quickly but guy didn't even care for minutes. You really need wisdom Pegasus HR and management team, right people at right spots. Customers are considered God who brings money in some Asian countries and they does treat them like one... Other Hospitality team by the counter are very nice they are good, few are excellent. So, I will be back as usual. Don't let that happen again.

The access to the location is through poor roads. The hotel does not have an elevator, so it's very difficult for people with mobility issues. Breakfast options are very limited and not good quality. There is no room or restaurant service late at night. The minibar is empty.

The hotel has its own (very beautiful) beach. The property is extremely clean, and many rooms open out onto the garden. The staff are (like in all of Sri Lanka) extremely nice. The room was big, clean and comfortable.

Pool is relatively small to such a large hotel.

Excellent large room (I'm referring to the connected family room towards the beach front). Clean and friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. They have a very large car park.

Arrived about 11.30 at night having flown from India. We had not eaten. . We appreciated that restaurant etc would be closed but we did have some cereal with us. Requested some milk so we could have at least something to eat. Informed room service finished at 10pm. There were 4 people in reception. I felt that someone could have just fetched some milk under the circumstances.

This is a very nice hotel near the sea with lovely garden views leading onto the beach. The rooms were reasonable size with everything you need. The showers were good. Breakfasts are mainly geared to the local tastes. This is only to be expected and applies to all Asian Hotels. There are some European options which the Floor Manager Ms Priynoh was most helpful with. Cereals ,Eggs to order, bacon ,tomatoes, and delicious fresh waffles. She could even organise a pot of good English tea. Although they had a good dinner selection we were drawn to THE FISHERY –Watlala restaurant in the garden area. Nice live saxophone music, beers and delicious food. Complements to the Chefs and staff, Manasha,Sampath,Asanka,Navodya,Ayesh ,Sampath,Shiva and Ashen, who prepared our lovely fresh food. The vegetarian options were excellent. We were also shown a selection of fresh fish that was then filleted and cooked it to perfection by the Fish Chef and his staff. If booking with booking.com I suggest you screen shot offer prior to booking. they use another company to book on there behalf and sometimes the details can vary. A very nice stay. Was last here some 30+ years ago and time has definitely taken a toll on the property overall. Somewhat neglected and maintenance appears to be minimal. Need to improve on appearance to be competitive with newer hotels in the district.

Stayed here 23/9 to 28/10 (almost 5 weeks, excluding 6 days away). Excellent work by staff in all departments but special mention must be made of Niji at Reception, Nishantha, Priyanka and Suranjan at the Restaurant / F&B for courteous, efficient and very attentive service.
