The host is a lovely person and the caretakers are all very helpful. They got our bags from the main road as the property is a short 2-3 minute walk down the path. The place has a old world beauty about it. For the price point, it is perfect.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts and the staff were very accommodating. The place was clean and had a homely atmosphere. The decor and the interior structure surely added to it's character. The breakfast was a nice touch and it filled our hearts and souls. Happily come and stay here again one day. Highly recommended.

Asela and his family were so welcoming and made us feel at home in their beautiful house. Our room was huge and breakfast each morning was amazing. We got a free pick up and drop off from Nanuoya station as well as laundry done at the property. Asela gave us a lot of history about the house and the town of Nuraya Eliya and lots of tips about the activities we wanted to do. Right next to a mountain you can hike up amongst tea fields and 10-15 minutes walk into town. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

The hot water shower wasn't easy as didn't have a lot of pressure, it is a bit far from the town centre (but in a nice quiet location, so depends on what you value)

The host, Asela, was incredible: picked us up from the station and left us there again at the end, was very knowledgeable and friendly and taught us about the country and gave us good tips for walks around Nuwara Eliya, making our stay so much more valuable. Breakfast was very good.

We loved everything about staying at Shirin 1892. The owner was brilliant. He gave us so much information and helped with everything we wanted to do. Our room was huge the bed was comfortable and our breakfasts were delicious. I would certainly recommend staying here. Very good value for money

Asela was by far the best host we had throughout our tour through Sri Lanka - and we had many super friendly and welcoming stays. Asela literally shared his family home with us, as well as his thoughts and experiences - and it was always wonderful to sit and talk with him! Thank you for being such a great host, you made our stay really special! And thank you also to the rest of the family is course! Other than that the food was great and so was the location: Quiet but close to everything. Asela gave us a lift to and from the railway station, which was super helpful. And not to forget: The house where you will be able to stay is like a museum with an interesting and rich history.

Our stay at Shirin1892 was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the owner's extraordinary kindness and attention to detail. Starting our trip at 5 in the morning seemed daunting, but the owner went above and beyond by preparing a delicious breakfast to go, ensuring we started our day on the right foot. Furthermore, his gesture of picking us up and personally escorting us to the nearby train station truly exemplified his dedication to ensuring our comfort and convenience. Moreover, the house itself is a gem, retaining its original charm and character from 1892. Each corner exudes history and warmth, making our stay a truly unique and memorable experience. We were captivated by the authenticity and beauty of Shirin1892.

Colonial villa with charm, that breathes history. Villa is in flood condition, it would need some fixing. But it was very nice stay. Old fashioned living room, where the host serves the breakfas is amazing. One of the best breakfast we had in Sri lanka. Delicious!

Everyone is friendly including the landlord and the room is big. Coffee is also provided upon arrival. If you like living in ancient houses, you can stay here and experience the old houses from the past.
