The hosts were warm and welcoming. They made our stay comfortable and ensured we had all we needed. Exceptional hospitality from Nishanti and Wasanth, considering it was the first leg of our trip in SL. The Lotus room was spacious with storage, dresser, equipped with facilities like pincoded locker, mosquito nets, tissues, towels, hair dryer, and tidy. The bathroom was big and clean with running hot water. The breakfast was sumptuous and delicious with fresh fruits, fresh fruit juices, Sri Lankan delicacies and a choice of eggs & toast. The staff looking after the guest house were excellent and catered to our needs. Wasanth even offered to drop off & pick us up from the nearest restaurant for dinner, in his tuktuk, on a rainy night. I would recommend staying with them if you're ever in Bentota!

At the Sri Lancashire Guest House we were once again able to experience what hospitality and devotion mean in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately we were only able to enjoy the friendliness and warmth for a short time as we had to travel on. But in this short time we felt completely at home! Everything was decorated with a lot of love and was rounded off by the flowers scattered everywhere. Thank you so much for everything!

My 2 night stay with Nishanti and Wasantha is surely an unforgettable one. They welcomed me with a garland of fresh flowers and a welcome drink which was so nice. The room was so clean and also nicely decorated with flowers which surely expresses the love and dedication in creating great satsfaction to their customers. Wasantha also came checking on me to see if I'm ok since she didn't see me for a while. So many thanks for your care, attention and a wonderful stay🙏

Location is a little out of the way but Wasanrha is brilliant and will assist with transport via Tuk tuk. Only a few minutes drive to the main Bentota town.

Amazing attention to detail and an exceptionally warm welcome. The owners Nishante and Wasanrha set the bar very high. They decorate the room upon arrival, which was an amazing large double room with wrap around balcony and ample seating. Huge bathroom and toiletries provided. Flannels. Towels. A real home from home.

Some people go the extra mile, but our hosts went much further than that. Absolutely lovely. Amazing customer service. Super friendly. Fabulous room and the best vibe you can imagine. Stop looking at tue fake reviews and book this one. Aah, i forgot to mention the prime location. This is paradise!

We enjoyed 7 nights here. The breakfasts were amazing, and filled us up for the rest of the day - some days we didn't even have a second meal! You get free sunbeds under shade on the beach over the road and we spent 3-4 hours there most days. The bed was really comfortable, it was helpful having a mosquito net around it, and we made the most of the Aircon and the ceiling fan. The little touches in the room and outside were really thoughtful, with beautiful room flower arrangements every time the room was cleaned! The hosts willingly share recommendations for eateries and shops, and offer transport if needed too. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend staying here.

One of the best places I stayed in Sri Lanka. The owners are lovely and do their best to make you feel at home. The room is very nice and cozy and has all that you need. Breakfast was super!

The location: it's not close to restaurants, cafes or shops. Wasantha very kindly suggests (very western and quite upscale) restaurants and takes you there for free with his tuk-tuk, but this arrangement did not make feel very independent and in charge of my choices. The beach: it's really close, just in front of the guesthouse, but it is not at the level of the more beautiful beaches of the area. Nor is the Sea View Beach Restaurant very good: it's nice to have free access to sunbeds and beach umbrella, but everything is a bit shabby and rund down, the menu is sad, the food really so-so.

Beautiful, big and extremely clean room, with all comforts and a lot of nice touches. There also is a nice private balcony, where you can have your breakfast, read a book etc. Brakfast is BIG and good. A beach towel is provided, which is really convenient. The setting is nice, with a lot of greenery all around. Nishanthi is very nice and welcoming, and she very kindly let me have a late check out, as my flight was late at nicht from Colombo (the transfer to the airport was also arranged directly by the guest house, with Wasantha driving).

Great place with amazing hosts. You feel welcome the moment we enter the property. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast served on a terrace. Just across a street to a very nice beach. Almost every evening hosts recommended a place to eat and drove me to a restaurant .Very kind and hospitable as well. Nishanthi made us feel so welcome and at their paradise. Wasantha was a perfect guide helping us explore and taking us to lovely places to see. Strongly recommended. We will be come back again.

The hosts were so so welcoming and attentive. They helped us with arranging a bus & told us about the local area. There is a nice beach you can swim in near by. The breakfast was so delicious, big portions but you can save anything you have left in the fridge provided, we also used the kitchen one night, it was great to have the option to cook your own food.

Everything was perfect

This is such a beautiful place. Location is so pretty and near a stunning beach. The rooms are lovely. Clean and extremely comfortable. Delicious food. Kind, thoughtful, helpful staff. Everything was perfect

This was really the best guesthouse during our two weeks in Sri Lanka! Super cute building, wonderful rooms, all beautifully decorated with flowers. We were welcomed with so much love, so many gifts and food! The location is very quiet and the nearby beach is basically a private beach during these days of the year and looks more beautiful than many beaches we have seen here during our roundtrip. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

The rain, but even this was a positive. No one can control the weather but if you must be stuck inside, there's no better place to do it than Sri Lancashire.

I can't add much more beyond all the wonderful reviews before me. There's a reason this stay rates a 10 with over 60 reviews. While you can find other places for a lower price (not much lower I must add), you will find no better. Truly a four star experience in every respect. Thank you Nishanthi and Wasantha!

The guesthouse is a few kilometres out of town, so a little far to walk but fine in a tuk tuk or by bike. The sea is not really suitable for swimming when the prevailing wind is westerly.

What a great start to our holiday in Sri Lanka. Wasantha & Nishanthi are wonderful hosts, their kindness, smiles & sense of humour made us feel at home. We had a fun time cycling around Bentota and the local area on their push bikes. The guesthouse is across the road from the beach which is an added bonus. We have been in Sri Lanka for five weeks and can say that Nishanthi’s breakfasts are by far the best - a great introduction to Sri Lankan food. We will certainly recommend the guesthouse to all our friends & family.
