Everything was great!

Staying at this guesthouse was one of the highlights from our travels around Sri Lanka. The owner and his family are the kindest and nicest people. They helped us with the most random requests and always made sure to go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast deserves its own paragraph as it was SO MUCH delicious food. The owner also mixed things up every day which was a very nice touch. Can’t wait to come back soon!

We had an amazing and comfortable stay in the V@Ella Guesthouse. Andy and his family are lovely and helpful. They run the guest house extremely well. The rooms and bathrooms are super clean and tidy! Every morning they served delicious breakfast on our terrace. From here we had an awesome view on the Ella Rock.

The laundry was pretty expensive, and it smelled really bad when we received it, apparently due to an old iron or something. But this was the only downside, other than that I would recommend it.

Very nice place. We absolutely loved the breakfasts with a view over the valley. The host was very nice and the room comfortable, clean and looked good.

- it’s not a 5 star hotel, so of course you have to accept that the rooms are a bit basic (but very clean and we have learned better basic and clean than the other way round) but that’s self-evident given the price of the room so no points lost here.

the pictures and the ratings before did. not lie: - basic but very clean rooms incl clean bathroom - view on Ella rock from the balcony - quiet location - Andy and his Family are very helpful hosts. the first night we had dinner at matey hut (recommendation btw) and Andy’s dad wanted to explain a shortcut to us which we didn’t understand so he didn’t hesitate and escorted us the 10-max 15 min walk. - great tips for the location and surroundings, no problem in organising further transportation

This is an amazing place to stay. I loved the location: it’s up on a quite street with stunning views on Little Adam peak and Ella rock. Yet it is close to the main street with all the eateries and shops. Andy shared a shortcut way to the town, so no need to climb :)) Breakfast was rich, we enjoyed sitting on a terrace in the morning. Hosts are very welcoming and warm people.

At the first moment the guest house seems to be a bit outside of the center, but there is a short cut along the railroad track you can take to reach the village center in 7-10 min. walk. Or by tuk tuk in about 5 min. (it costs about 400-500 LKR).

Andrew, his wife, and father did everything to satisfy our needs. We felt at home. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast yummy, just a bit to much for us!:) The view was stunning! Nothing to complain about.

Fantastic place with great host! A lovely family who made our stay perfect. Helped us to arrange a say trip in Ella. We felt were warmly welcomed, host was very helpful, we had a Morning train to Kandy and we got the best breakfast to go (full package with amazing sanwitches, pankaces and fruits) and he helped us with Morning drive to the train station. View from the place is stunning on a jungle and moutains. Great place to stay once visiting Ella!

Missing AC

The room was clean and had a nice bed. The walk to the main street was about 10 minutes. The breakfast was okay but there is potential for improvement like omlett as standard, egg roti or samosas. The owner was very kind. They also helped us with the train tickets.

It is a 10-15 min walk to the main street. It is a nice walk in the morning, but in the evening it is quite dark, so you have to get a tuk-tuk.

I came for couple of days, but stayed 4. Andy and his family are great hosts. Breakfast and the view are superb. Highly recommended.

Great accommodation in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk to Ella town (there ist also a short cut via the railway track) and amazing view to Ella Rock and Little Adam's peak. The room is brigth, clean, well furnished and the beds one of the most comfortables we had during our 5-week trip through Sri Lanka. The wifi works perfectly. Andy and his family are insanely attentive hosts who take personal care of their guests and are happy to give them info about the country and people. Andy even took us to the train station and helped with buying train tickets. Highly recommended!!

Honestly, nothing really.

Everything.. right from the outset we were greeted with a very hospitable gentleman. The vibe he brings is just phenomenal. The place is just picture perfect with hot water and more than adequate facilities. My recommendation to everyone who is booking at this place is to order the breakfast, because it is just once in a lifetime experience with the views and the tea.
