How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There's not much to dislike. Just remember that it's a functional place, rather than a fancy one. Want ultra luxury? Look somewhere else.
This hotel can be overall described as nice, simple and bang for buck. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is included and is a standard continental breakfast. Parking is free. There's even a terrace. Staff is VERY polite and helpful. Oh, and it's a 15 minute walk from the center.

The only issue we had with the hotel was the smell of sewerage in the bathroom and a used cotton bud in our room but other than that everything was excellent!
Staff were lovely, the hotel is in a great location, everything is close by, if you want a chill evening in the hotel they have a great back garden, would definitely recommend!

very loud street- can’t leave window open. breakfast could be better. small room, but for one night stay is okey.

The worst part of our stay was that the air conditioner was plugged off and we noticed it before leaving, because the wire was hidden behind the chair. Night was very hot and it could have been useful.

I booked two rooms for the same price but the rooms where different. The one on the 2nd floor was very nice but the other one on the 4th floor corner didn't have a half of what the other had. One chair, corner table, tv and a closet were the only interior elements. No mirror, no paintings, no side bed lamps, no resting area or safe. The room was bigger than the nice one but it was half empty. A bit strange.
Nice staff. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Price worthy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Biplan. Very comfortable apartment and superb shower! Highlight is the lovely, friendly, welcoming staff on reception, who are always smiling as you come and go and more than happy to help. The location is within reasonable walking distance of the city centre and the breakfast was very nice, plentiful and frequently replenished. Our apartment was a little ‘quirky’, but very clean and comfortable and we felt very much at home there. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The breakfast was pretty modest. There was only tea, not coffee, available in the room.
Personell showed nicely the exact place for the motorbike. Room was spacious, new and clean.

Coffee machine didn't work in the morning =) But I guess it was fixed since then.
The location is good and very close to the center. I had a free parking place in the yard. The room is small and the bed is not super comfortable but it's fine for a budget hotel. Bathroom and the sheets were very clean. I especially liked the buffet breakfast! For the price it was great.

I liked everything but I would suggest
thermal insulation, spacious apartment separated bedroom, 24h front door service , staff knows many languages including English,very friendly and helpful staff , owner has a great care of the business in all details , breakfast was very delicious there is a very good coffee machine , very welcoming hotel ,car parking dual exits from two roads , it’s a themed hotel about planes , so unique and was a great experience as myself personally traveled several countries and this Biplane hotel became one of my favourite a 5 stars from my point of view, I highly recommend as I were so pleased with my stay also the city of Daugavpils is indeed very nice place to visit, the hotel is very clean, the location is one of the best spots in Daugavpils,

It was too hot in the room. There wasn't an option to regulate the heat, only opening window helped. But then came in the smoke from the next house chimney. Pillow is too thick. But all this didn't matter, because I was very tired and slept very good :)
