Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaThe room was quite small, but it was ok for us, what is worse is the fact that it faces the main road with traffic lights nearby, so it was really noisy even at night. If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs are essential. There were no bedside tables, so it was not possible to store essential items, nor was there a shelf in the bathroom. The sockets were very inconveniently placed. On arrival we found that our toilet seat was broken and did not hold at all. When we reported this, the reception staff didn't seem very willing to resolve the situation and it was fixed the other afternoon by another receptionist, we presume.
The hotel is located in a really nice area, about 15-20 minutes walk to the centre, surrounded by shops and restaurants nearby. Really great breakfast with a variety of choices - vegetables, ham, eggs, bacon and pastries, cereals.

GreeceThe bathroom was meh but that was not a big issue and there was no AC so if that is a problem for you then keep that in mind. Also, don’t expect a big gym…
Very spacious and clean room, the location is a 15-20 minute walk from the center but the area is really nice. The staff is also very kind.

EstoniaIt seems we were unlucky ones who got their shower slightly broken, we've reported this during check out, so I hope next guests won't have this issue. Also, since there's no air conditioner in the room, in the hot days it might be too hot in the rooms
Great location, friendly stuff, sweet inner yard where one can enjoy silence with snacks and drinks

NetherlandsThe bed and the pillow were very uncomfortable. The pillow was too shallow, the bed was too soft. A water kettle would be useful as well. The size of the room was small and also opening the window doesn't help to ventilate the room, but the fan is very useful.
The location of the hotel is right in the centrum, close to cafes and bars. The fan and the small heater are quite useful, because in warm weather the air gets quite stuffy in the room, so you can use it to get some breeze inside the room.

Czech RepublicI believe the offer said that the room included "city view", but mine definitely did not have that, the room was quite dark unfortunately. Also, I left the tag on my door for the staff to clean my room twice but it never happened. It was not a big issue for me because I stayed only 3 nights though. The walls are extremely thin, I could literally hear the guest next door moving around in their bed at night as if they were laying next to me. Bring ear plugs :) Note for future travellers: I was in Riga in the middle of May. The receptionist infored me that the heating season in Latvia had already finished so it was still very cold in the room. Not the hotel's fault at all of course, as described above, they provided a small heater, so really appreciate that!
The communication with the accommodation was great, the staff I interacted with at the reception was very kind. Especially the lady who was there during the weekend was particularly helpful. She lent me a charger, she had a small heater delivered in my room because it was quite cold inside. The breakfast was abundant and good - except for the coffee, better get one on the street after the breakfast :). The room itself was very clean at the arrival, had everything I needed for a weekend. I could leave my luggage at the reception after the check out. I believe there is a laundry room where you can use the iron, but I did not need it in the end.

EstoniaIn case you have room that faces the street it can be quite noisy. WiFi is not necessarily good. In bathroom there are no shelves where to put your things. There is no water kettle in the room.
I have been in this hotel many times aready. This should already reflect the fact that I find it reasonable. Hotel itself is art deco style. In most of the rooms I have been is for example bathtub, bathroom itself is also pretty big. Beds, pillows reasonably comfy. There is possibility to park the bike on courtyard. Also hot water and coffee available in the reception. Gym is open 24/7.

United StatesOne of the customer service front desk person was very rude. We had issues with our next door room playing an alarm from 8:20am that wouldn’t stop for over an hour. We had to ask to change rooms and they were not at all helpful. However, another front desk lady was very apologetic and nice. So mixed service

GermanyI first got a room on the first floor. It smelled like humidity and it was very unpleasant. The girl at the front desk said it was the scent the cleaning service applied.. but I don’t think so. Regardless, I got placed in another room but with two single beds instead of a double bed.
Great location in central Riga. Close to shops, cafes and nice restaurants. It is a 10-15min walk from Old Riga. The area is great to see a more authentic life in the city rather than all the touristic vibe of Old Riga. The room was cleans and comfortable. The girl at the front desk was friendly and assisted me in changing the room I got at the beginning.

EstoniaThis time I had room on the second floor facing the street. So all life from bar next door was in my room all night. Would be nice also, if there would be kettle in each room. Also possibility to separate trash would be welcomed - for example there could be different bins in each corridor. In the gym this time there was no cleansing liquid. Coffee in the lobby was also not available at the morning.
I have stayed several times in this hotel. Location is good, close to the old town. Rooms are ok, specially the apartment type of rooms. Hot water is available downstairs, sometimes also free coffee. There is also small gym in the hotel that is open 24/7.
