Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe frig was not plugged in so we did not use it. The stove needed directions how to use it.
I loved the ocean front view and the beautiful design of the room with the colored tiles, the layout, and the beautiful windows. The staff at the Dar Ayour were very nice and made us feel welcome. The fried egg, coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast were so delicious.

ArgentinaStairs were a bit uncomfortable, I preferred not to bring down my suitcase so I had to go up and down many times. The toilet had no soap and that was a bummer. Groundfloor has a playroom so at night it can get noisy and people smoke there.
The look and feel of the apartment is beautiful. I could hear the ocean from it and it was lovely. Location was excellent to move around the Medina easily. Kitchen was well-equipped. Bed was comfortable and I had many tables/desks to use.

United KingdomNothing we did not like, but would have given higher rating for a hair dryer and basic toiletries to be included. The bathroom need a chair. The main lounge needed a mirror. Would have been nice to have had some tea or coffee bags to start off with. People with mobility issues would find the spiral staircase from the lobby impossible to climb.
Fantastic location, very close to main square, taxis, restaurants and shops. Nice welcome was offered and accepted mint. Tea. Pleasant hosts. Very good breakfast included for a very fair price. Bed comfortable, shower cubicle small, but workable. Decor beautiful and in a traditional Moroccan style. Some exterior noise of an evening, but died down before midnight. The sound of the sea at night was gorgeous and relaxing. Own entrance and exist big plus point. The owner very kindly got us some bottled water when requested prior to our visit. Excellent value for money, was more spacious than expected. Lovely light through stained glass windows onto stairs.

IrelandAt the reception, they charge a big amount for paying by card or their cash currency rate is very high. cash ends up a bit cheaper. Smoking downstairs would be tolerable, but unfortunately it goes up to the room and lingers there during the night. Room needs a good air freshener or ventilation in general, it has a bit of a smell. It's understandable, because it's so close to the sea, but the furniture has a layer on many surfaces, just needs a better everyday clean I guess. Bathroom needs more towels and toiletries, especially when booked for 3 nights
The view from our room was absolutely stunning, crashing waves only 20m from us and sunset direction for a chill evening in the room. Room decor was authentic and colorful with some beautiful Moroccan detail and tiles. But the view was just breathtaking. After a slow start with the owner, he was very helpful in finding us a chess board, for that I am very thankful to him

MaltaYou have to leave eventually 😄
Everything about this property is amazing. The style of the room is well organized and the decor is just lovely. The view tops it off. The best accommodation I have ever stayed in!! It’s located a few seconds from the main square and the streets are very safe at night for solo travelers. (No creepy alleys) Clean room and lovely hosts. Breakfast is also lovely and varied from day to day. It was so lovely that it’s very difficult to leave the room sometimes. I had to stay an extra night because I loved it so much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dar Ayour. The staff was welcoming and kind, and made for a wonderful experience. The location of the hotel was perfect as it was to access to the city square and the medina. Additionally, it was very close to many cafes and restaurants.

United KingdomBefore arrival I messaged the property and asked how they would like to be paid, ie in local currency, Euros or GBP. They replied and said they didn't mind so we saved our Euros for this. When we got there they insisted on Moroccan Dirhams, annoying as we had to go and convert these again. Shower was cold but they said they could have fixed this. Bed was clean but the covers very old, you need fresh covers and blankets as they were not comfortable. The ground floor is a bar and although no noise disturbed us at all there is a lingering smell of smoke on the stairs coming into the room, this was the only thing that really spoilt the experience.
Location location location - what a view, it is all about that. To sit with the doors open watching the tide come and go, locals fishing on the rocks, wonderful. Decoration is a little crazy but fun. Wifi is very good, plenty of space.

United KingdomNo view as was given lower room . Layout of rooms felt strange . Smoke from the cafe they run spreads to the guest room . Owner was not happy to take a Card Payment as we only stayed for one night and asked for cash . He does not like paying 3% to take cards . I paid with card and paid him cash 20 dhms cash for commission , he was then happy . Sure the top bedroom has an amazing view , ours had no view . Only stayed here because of good reviews . I feel I was mis guided . I’m sorry but I have to be honest and this is how I feel . Was not a great experience and my wife wanted to leave before we unpacked .

United Kingdomthe smell of smoke coming up from the bar on the ground floor was strong all night. the 'kitchen' was a bit pointless really. the room upstairs had left the balcony doors open and they were banging all night in the wind... could've been avoided. the room was listed as having futon beds but it was basically just a double bed... the "futons" were more just seating... but would be ok for kids to sleep on.... though there was no extra bedding for them. no shower gel provided. card machine apparently not working so had to pay by cash.
Location was great. just outside the medina. close to the port. waking distance to the beach. superb sea view from our 2nd floor apartment. Sounds of the waves all night was great. Good bed. decent shower. cool decor. the WiFi was excellent. friendly staff. the spiral staircase was fun, though would not be great if you have limited mobility

United KingdomWe loved everything. The only thing I'd say which is outside the owners control is occasional street noise from the busy alley- we stayed 4 nights and it was always quiet by midnight, and did not disturb our kids who slept at 9pm, but if you are a very sensitive sleeper it might annoy you
The room was like an apartment, it was soooo beautiful, the decor is class and the noise of the waves is beautiful all night. Spotlessly clean and staff were lovely, check in was easy, location perfect
