For Rabat, it was excellent, as good as I have seen.

The hotel was right in the middle of the Medina, so you could walk to the main market within 5 minutes. Great location, very warm welcome and tour from the hosts, relaxing atmosphere, excellent roof terrace, nice coffee juice fruit and pastries for breakfast.

Everything is amazing: the breakfast is good, the room is spacious and quiet, the staff is so helpful and gave us a really warm welcome. This is my second stay in this hotel and I will definitely go back there next time.

We opted to have dinner here and only several other people had dinner as well. The tagine was not up to par, the chicken was skimpy and the wine was several days old. The complaints were also voiced by the other quests. The service was great but unfortunately he was a bit at a disadvantage. I discussed the dinner problems with the staff and they agreed and said to tell management of the issue. Other than dinner, we would stay here again without a second thought.

The room in this riad was exceptional in every respect. The staff were very amiable and helpful with plans for visiting the medina and the other sights. The breakfast was very good.

Every single staff person was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The property was clean and charming. Very good breakfast with plentiful coffee. The beds were very comfortable. The purified water machine (hot and cold) was an excellent amenity - so much better than using up plastic bottles. The location was excellent!!

The bathrobe provided was torn.

We had an amazing time in Dar Shâan, a very beautiful and tastefully decorated hotel. The views from the rooftop are fantastic. Pity we only stayed one night. Staff is very welcoming and the location is excellent to see what Rabat has to offer.

The bathroom was not on the same floor as the bed. We asked for another room, due to a physical condition, but were not rewarded.

The decoration and the style of “the Dar”

Very noisy with staff calling to each other loudly, wooden doors that Bang and noise from the staircase and the elevator.

It was good but it would have been nice to have had more cut up fresh fruit and some plain yogurt.

What didn’t I like? My only complaint would be some more offerings at the continental breakfast… juice and fresh fruit would do it. Not every traveller enjoys only savoury meats and salad for breakfast.

Our night in Rabat was meant to be just a stop to break the driving journey between Marrakech and Tangier. Jumped on Booking.com and picked Dar Shann but didn’t have any expectations either way. It turned out to be one of the more beautiful properties we stayed at during our eight weeks away. After parking our hire car in the aptly named Avenue Laalou, we walked down a beautiful laneway to the door of this delightful accommodation The Riad is beautifully and authentically decorated with carefully chosen Moroccan tiles and vibrant and welcoming colours. The bed was one of the more comfortable I have slept in with plenty of room to move around it. The room contained a safe and lockable glass front doors and the shower was amazing.

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Shâan and would recommend it to anyone staying in Rabat. It is beautifully decorated throughout with a tranquil, leafy central courtyard and several roof terrace areas with a lovely small pool. The bed was very comfortable with high quality linen and it was the only Riad we stayed in that had a separate toilet in addition to the shower. The staff were so welcoming and helpful - we had great support from Ayoub and the rest of the team. The Riad is a short walk from the majestic Oudaya and the beach, with spectacular views of the coastline. It is also within the walls of the medina and it’s wonderful to wander through the maze of streets taking in all the sights and sounds.

Breakfast was buffet and was ok. They tried very hard but there wasn’t always anyone around to refill the items milk juice etc.

A lovely welcome and came out along the alley to help us with our bags. Showed us round. The place is lovely.

We Loved everything.

We loved everything about Dar Shann: the tastefully decorated spaces, everywhere you look, with repect to historical Moroccan's periods, beautiful and comfortable room, lovely courtyard potted garden and rooftop pool, the breakfast quarters with ambiant music, the delicious breakfasts and the kind staff members.

An exceptional Riad in the Medina. A very short walk from where your taxi drops you off. Easy to find. Nicely decorated courtyard, breakfast/ diner room and rooftop terrace with small pool. Our room was beautiful with a comfortable bed. Water for the shower was hot. Each day breakfast was excellent as was the dinner we had one evening. As exceptional as the property was, the Riad's staff was even better. The staff to a person was extremely helpful. I had a medical issue requiring a trip to the emergency room. A staff member accompanied my wife by cab in the pouring rain to an ATM when the ATM near the Riad was out of currency. Staff arranged to have a doctor come to the Riad to assess how I should be treated. All staff members were genuinely concerned for my well being. Arrangements were made for a taxi to take me to hospital. When we returned late in the evening, having not eaten all day, we were served a meal in the breakfast/ dinner room. Staff member continually inquired about my well being and how they could help my wife and myself. The entire staff took all steps possible to make or stay comfortable and as stress free. We have never had such a positive hotel experience as that we had at Dar Shaan. We can't imagine any better place to stay in Rabat.
