The staff are friendly and ever helpful with excellent English. The decor is gorgeous and very 'Moroccan'. Rooftop terraces cool and atmospheric. While waiting for my room to be ready, and when departing, I was treated to mint tea - nice touch. Loved it!!!!

The Riad it's near to one of the main entrance of the Fes Medina - the blue Gate, which make it very accessible, and easy fo find. Good environment, the building it is very well maintained with typical decoration that made you feel the Moroccan atmosphere. Nice and welcoming staff.

Riad Al Makan is really nice; clean, quiet, comfortable and with welcoming and helpful staff. We arrived by taxi from the bus station and the taxi driver knew the hotel and dropped us as close to it as he could. Our room was in the annexe across the road and the annexe is very comfortable. The hotel dining area is very nice indeed with beautiful traditional styling. The location of the hotel is very good and the interesting parts of the medina are a short walk away. Even though we visited during Ramadan a few nearby restaurants were open for lunch and we had no trouble finding anywhere for dinner. One evening we ate at the hotel and it was very nice.

Breakfast could be improved by stating clearly what are the options (e.g omelette, fried eggs, …). Also it was pretty slow to get tea instead of coffee or to get anything. Main options on the table are sweet so important to know what else can be ordered.

Great location, easy to go on foot everywhere or to get a taxi from the roundabout close by. The receptionist in the afternoon/evening is super friendly and gives very good advice on what to do. We got a small map when we arrived, super practical. The room in the annex was rather quiet (no street noise, no prayer and relatively low inside noise) and big enough

We just spent a night in this riad. The personnel was really friendly and polite, and the inner halls looks just fantastic!! The staff even packed a breakfast for us since the evening, since we had to leave very early and wanted to eat beforehand.

The Riad was amazing. The interior is colorful and comfortable. The location is perfect - we got to see lots of stuff in walking distance. The staff is amazing- they were warm and welcoming, even at 2 am when we arrived. They sat down with us and explained the area. We can highly recommend staying there. The roof top terrace was amazing. We had a wonderful time there and got to see the sun set with breathtaking few. the breakfast was so good - we did not miss anything, there was coffee, fresh juice, bread and a variety pastries.

Having stayed and lived in Fez for more than two decades, this was my first--but not last--stay at Riad al Makan. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff; incredibly generous breakfasts; terrific internet; and comfortable rooms at a very reasonable price make the Riad an excellent home base for a few days or even longer. Cant be more happy than seeing the staff every morning at breakfast who were always attentive and kind. The rooftop terraces are exceptional!

coffee could be stronger hotel room was on the 5th floor with no elevator, not big deal for us but would be concerned for older guests I tend to travel with earplus so noise was not big deal for me but my friend did mention there were some noises at night.

This is the place to stay in Fez! The breakfast was delicious! The guys working at the reception area were friendly and helpful! The riad was located within walking distance of the medina which was wonderful! We could walk to everything that we wanted to see!

All was clean and comfortable. The breakfast and food are really good. The staff is incredibly nice and they are always willing to help. The location is great, it is in the medina but very close to the entrance so it’s easy to get to the Riad by yourself (5 min walking from/to blue gate). Highly recommended!!
