Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyVery nice and helpful family who run this hotel. We were always late for breakfast but they didn't hesitate to prepare one for us anyway. We would come back again

AustraliaThe family who own and operate Golden Myanmar are beautiful people; I cannot rate them highly enough. From the first booking experience, chatting on the app, to pickup check-in, and the various issues I had (money changing dramas, date changes etc) they were graceful, generous and accommodating. I felt cared for and valued, beyond my small value as a customer. Everything was handled easily, with smiles, and I am actually a little reluctant to leave. The hotel itself is not luxury, but more than adequate, and I will be back here as soon as I can. The location is convenient and well-placed, near to the local market, restaurants, everything you might need. Local advice is given, and accurate, from a place of goodwill and trust. Honestly cannot speak highly enough of Thet Phoo and her family. Do yourself a favour and stay; I can't imagine you'll regret it.

Austria- the bathrooms could use some attention but in general I was very pleased to stay here for 10 nights (kept on extending…) - wifi was sometimes working perfectly and sometimes not. that’s most likely depending on the room you are in.
Golden Myanmar was recommended to me by a local friend. It has around a dozen rooms in various sizes. One is directly facing a big balcony where an extensive breakfast is served. I stayed in a twin corner room at the end of the aisle. The mattress was good and due to windows on both sides the sleep was fantastic. After 22:00 there is no one in the street so it gets REALLY quiet. The place is run by a lovely family. Thet Phoo and her team are very helpful and make your stay as comfortable as possible. They also offer a cheaper pick up from the bus station than the actual taxi. Also you can book your balloon flight at the reception for the best price - depending on availability and day. Last minute bookings are cheaper. At the moment balloon prices are at their best rate - up to minus 50% of their official rate. You can rent a scooter or mountainbike at the reception as well. The great Nyaung U market is 1 min walk and Shwezigon pagoda 15 mins walk away. The famous restaurant street also 15 mins walk (opposite Shwezigon). Supermarket is next door. Pros: - best price for a private room. - white sheets. - room with windows. - complimentary water with refill station to avoid plastic. - close to supermarket / market / Shwezigon. - very friendly and helpful. - balloon flight / scooter / mountain bike rental directly at the reception for a good price. - cheaper pick up service from the bus station. - big balcony for extensive breakfast. - fridge and toiletries in the room. - own generator as electricity is switched off regularly by the authorities. - a/c and fan in the room. - wifi - they lent me cutlery and plate for the fruits from the market. - Thet Phoo speaks English so it’s easy to communicate. Thanks for a great time in Bagan / Nyaung U

RussiaNo complaints
Modest, but cozy guest house. What really impressed us was management and service. The lady owner was extremely kind and helpful. She did much more than we paid for, by the way, very modest sum. She cared about our program and helped a lot, about our transfers (arranged meeting us at night far away - for free!), when small problems occurred (internet or hot water) she solved them immediately. We are very thankful to her and her kind staff.

United KingdomThe room was dark wood panelling and rather dated . The window to the outside world was tall but only 30 cm wide . Their is no sound proofing between rooms , it sounded like the people in the adjoining room were in mine . If you don’t pay in US dollar the exchange rate in kyats made the room $5 more as they don’t convert at the bank rate . The property is located a fair walk from the main action in town but with an E bike it wouldn’t be a problem.
Couldn’t wish for a nicer welcome . Lovely people who are always smiling. Excellent breakfast , great start for the day .
