Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsParking your car is a challenge. It is free everywhere, but finding a space will take you time driving around in circles around and in Rabat. The bathtub definitely needs a shower screen to prevent the bathroom from flooding while showering ;-) No soap/ shampoo provided in the bathroom, so bring your own.
Lovely old townhouse in the middle of Old Rabat. Restaurants, shops and Mdina all at walking distance. Nice touch: you'll find the fridge filled with some basics on arrival.

United KingdomWell, it's hard to find something that the host could improve. Perhaps the hair dryer could be replaced with a better, more powerful one? I was trying to dry my hair one day, and it was taking ages.
We had an amazing stay here. The house is in a beautiful old building, in a superb Rabat location. There is a shaded patio and a sunny roof terrace with sun loungers, so it was a perfect place to sit and relax in the sun during siesta. We were here mid-April, so the winds were still a bit cold. The kitchen has everything you need and the living room is very cosy. The bedrooms are big with beautiful windows and stylish furniture. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath tub, however on a less sunny day, the water was not too warm. Also, if you like a shower in the morning, the water may still be a little fresh after night. Also, there are little heaters in the bedrooms if the weather is cold, we used them to warm up the bedrooms before sleep. The host made us feel welcome and was very responsive and helpful. Thank you Rene!

United KingdomUnfortunately we had a few issues as well. The family bathroom shower is completely unusable as a shower - there’s no shower curtain and it faces outwards into the bathroom, so when you shower, water goes all over the floor. Both showers also leaked, as did one of the toilets. The main double bed was incredibly lumpy and you could feel springs digging you in the back. This was also the case with 1 out of the 4 single beds, making it rather uncomfortable to sleep in. Also, the wifi was very poor and dropped out frequently.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and the welcome booklet was very helpful. They supplied a few basic food items which was also super useful. There was plenty of space for 6 people, the rooms were large, and it was close to public transport stops which made getting around Malta easy. It was also a lovely old building in a beautiful part of the island. Communication with the host was excellent too and he was happy to answer any questions we had.

United KingdomThe house was damp, especially the bedrooms. The bedding therefore smelled and the bed itself was very uncomfortable. The shower leaked.
Beautiful stone house and wonderful location. The rooftop allowed access to midwinter sunshine.

United KingdomThe only thing we didn’t like about the property (and this is NOT the owner’s fault) is that the house it’s quite warm inside as weather in Malta is very hot. We used the fans all the time, day and night to be able to function and sleep there (but we are not used to temperatures like that, especially at night)
Absolutely everything. Location was perfect, close to main attractions, walking distance to Medina Silent city, very close to Catacombs and St. Paul’s church. The property is a perfect place for bigger group of people, separate rooms, 2 bathrooms + 1 separate toilet, big kitchen and the roof terrace make it the perfect holiday destination. Everything was tidy and freshly cleaned. The complimentary food package was super helpful after arriving late at night with all stores already closed.

MaltaOne (not full) toilet roll in each bathroom was supplied for a 15 night stay for 6 people. It has a full kitchen and there was no staples provided like salt, pepper, olive oil, foil, cling wrap etc. We were given a carton of UHT milk, a small cheese, sliced meat and supermarket style bread. Fresh milk, crusty fresh Maltese bread and more staples would have been far preferable. The laundry had a washing machine but no washing powder at all. Even the garbage bags were extremely limited in number. The bathrooms were not cleaned properly, when I asked that they be cleaned half way through, they were not done until I complained. There were no bathroom cleaning supplies given, so we couldn't do it ourselves. Only one shower had a screen. The main bathroom needs a shower curtain.
AMAZING AREA. Rabat is beautiful and the house is located on a wonderful old street. The house itself has amazing character. You can hear beautiful church bells ring. It's a short walk to many wonderful restaurants, cafe's, convenience stores and the silent city of Mdina. You'll have to walk to find car parking but the area is so lovely, it's not a hardship.
