Towels and linen provided were appalling. The bathroom was very second rate with no water pressure and bad lighting. The hostess was smoking in the communal area as well as walking around in her underpants which we found inappropriate. The cat also walks on the kitchen bench while breakfast was being served. The dog poo in the house and the smell was a bit offensive as well. We also couldn’t believe that we were charged an extra €5 per day to use the air conditioning.

The location was perfect as it was so close to the centre of town. John was a great host and very friendly with great advice on where to go. The breakfast provided was great and John varied it each day.

The host was quite accommodating and nice. He has good knowledge of malta and the things you could explore and how you can explore. He would sit and wait for us to come down for breakfast it was such a graceful gesture:)

Room: On first night we found one alive cockroach in the bathroom which we didn't want to make any trouble, since the room looked clean enough so we ignored the incident as we ignored the scent of mold in the room and tne bathroom as well. On third day we found 8 dead cockroaches in the bathroom and around the room. We asked to change the room and the host advised that all four rooms were full, which is weird since there was an available room here at booking when we checked afterwards. At the same time the host told us that it is normal to find cockroaches since that the island is full of them and that we shouldn't be worried since we find them dead. Breakfast: It contained fruits, butter, marmalades, 2 types of bread and 2-3 different pastries which I believe is poor selection in comparison with other b&b so overvalued. So the third day we had breakfast out. Parking: There is no parking space so it is very difficult to find free parking around the area and all the days we had to park around 500m away. Overall, it is a good choice for people who are looking for an affordable staying, are ok with finding dead or alive cockroaches in their rooms, like pastries and marmalades for breakfast and don't mind walking half km to find a parking space.

The building and the whole neighbourhood gives a sense of the old times in Malta. Location is also very good to explore the island.

breakfast - 5 pieces of salami and 1 bread for 4 persons, we were hungry all the time, Wi-Fi wasn't working in the room, air conditioning was paid additionally and it was really hot all the time, bathroom was from the Middle Ages, parking was unavailable, water pressure was very low, no facilities, no hair shampoo, no hair dryer, electric sockets were not always working, description on booking is an example of false advertisement, and we paid quite a lot for it ;(

The owner John, he is wonderful. The refined antique decorations of the property, the Mediterranean feeling, the breakfast was always very nice. The little dog Daisy. Everything was so lovely. Highly recommended.

The staff was wonderful, we had great conversations with John and Dee was lovely too. The breakfast was nice and a good start to the day, the room was beautiful looking, the bathroom too and the dogs (Nero who was there only for a few days and Daisy, who seemed upset when we were going, which made me feel nice) they had at the property were cute! Getting around to beaches was relatively easy. We used buses and Cool rides (the latter on 4 occasions, plus a taxi from the airport). Actually, the Cool rides app was John's suggestion and it was really worth it! We had an option to have air conditioning in our room. We could visit a different beach each day. It was a lovely and long awaited holiday.

Ambiance of rooms, comfy sitting area in the house and the breakfast sets you up for the day. We hired a car from the airport via booking.com which made access to the Island very easy, Naxxar centre within local distance and very easy walking.

There was nothing not to like about Knights of Malta. The dog, Daisy, will give you a little bark, but she is small, harmless and it's her way of saying hello.

The host, John, is so welcoming and helpful. John really wants you to make the most of your stay and will help you wherever he can. He also prepares a lovely breakfast in the morning.
