Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDespite specifically clarifying our arrival time beforehand, there was some confusion over this so we couldn't get access but Natalie arrived within half an hour of our contacting the property. The door access code could have been supplied in advance to allow access. Our apt. didn't look anything like the photos on the website. Furnishings are basic and not especially comfortable especially the sofa bed/couch and one of the beds. The kitchen is not particularly well equipped, there are no utility knives, for example, and a mismatched supply of glasses and plateware. Fresh milk in the fridge would be a great welcoming gesture. In spite of a huge 'no smoking' sign, one guest chose to chain smoke in the inner courtyard which wafted up to our area. Not the hotel's fault but unpleasant.
We had the top floor apartment. It comes with two outdoor terrace areas, one open and another smaller one under cover. The apartment is accessed from the terrace and the stairs/lift open up right onto the terraces (see photo) so they're not necessarily private spaces but no one came up during our stay. The expansive views across the harbour are magnificent and exceeded our expectation. It's in a great part of town, no street noise but very central to restaurants, shops and cafes. It's very spacious and light with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a kitchen area with a large, clean fridge.

SpainThey could do better if they had a proper closet in the room. The bthroom window was opening in the room and being in an old building it increases humidity. During my 5 days stay, room was cleaned only once and they change sheets for you if the stay is more than 6 days. I guess they would do it if u ask them before that.
I like the building and the staff. They were friendly and waited for me when I was late, I sent them msg about it. Staff was helpful to guide me to nearest market and came right away when i requested more cups in the room.

Valletta is a small city, so everything is reachable with few steps, so for me, the location is great. We got a beautiful suite with a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed and a well-cleaned bathroom. The staff is great and very helpful.

United KingdomA few more bits and pieces in the kitchen would be great, for example more mugs and cups. And perhaps a little booklet for guests staying in the apartment regarding day to day things - e.g. where to put your rubbish, and directions ideas for main tourist attractions e.g. sliema - valletta ferry etc.
The view of the 3 cities was amazing and we enjoyed soaking in the atmosphere of the harbour during the day and watching the fantastic fireworks and festa celebrations at night. The location was superb, 5 minutes walk to any where and close to the bus station which enabled us to explore the island. Superb local eateries and bars but really quiet in the apartment. I would recommend this accommodation. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Czech RepublicThere was some mold in the shower. There was not much space for our clothes as there were not many shelves in the wardrobe. No place to dry wet towels/swimsuit, almost no clothes/towel pegs.
Nice interiors, enough towels provided. Very good location. The owner provided another apartment when our AC got broken. Nice staff. The apartment was clean (except for the mold in the shower).

GermanyCheck-in process: 2 days before our arrival we received an email asking for a precise time of our arrival. We wrote back that we will arrive between 14:00 and 14:30. The property replied that they will be waiting for us. On the day of our check-in, we arrived at 14:10 and rang a bell. No one opened the door. We kept ringing the bell every 5-10 min thinking that maybe person was busy with something at the property, but no one answered or opened the door. It was not comfortable to stand outside in the heat and under the direct sun, but we thought we would wait until 15:00 before calling the phone number, which was give at their booking.com page When we called the phone number the person the other side of the line was surprised that we called, but promised to send someone over and check us in. 20-25 min later the lady came. She was visibly irritated with us (even though we were polite during our phone call), she did not greet us, not did she apologised for the confusion or not being there as was previously agreed upon. She quickly gave us a sheet of paper with codes for front door and internet and left. To summarize: bad check-in experience, bed sheets with hair on them (I asked to change the sheets, the lady became defensive and tried to argue that sheets were clean. I showed her hairs that were on our sheets and after that the guy that was present with her convinced her to change our sheets) internet worked during the first 3 days (internet did not work during the remaining 4 days, we had to sit in a hallway in order to have a chance to use the internet), dust on the majority of surfaces, there were hairs and dirt on the floor, mold in our shower, sink was not properly cleaned, faucets were not cleaned/polished (the faucet in the shower even had hair hanging in it), and some places wall paper was ripped, mirrors were dirty. Tried to use a microwave one morning to warm up food, but the cord for way to short in order to put it into the nearest socket.
Great central location, working AC, hot water was always available, nice design of rooms, enough amenities in the room, enough towels, extra pillows if needed, a safe, blow dryer, extra rolls of toilet paper, liquid hand soap and shampoo/bodywash

MaltaWe stayed in room 1 on the ground floor. The room was very small, Tv didn't function, room had moisture damage, we had some drains running through the room hidden behind gypsum that were incredibly noisy evey time the rooms on top of us flushed or showered. What was worst of all was that the cleaning staff were stupidly loud at 6.30-7am on a saturday and sunday morning, calling out and filling buckets of water right outside our door, throwing towels from three stories up into the courtyard.
Good air-conditioning, quite clean and great water pressure

BulgariaThe host treated me very unfairly. I had booked a studio for a week (unfortunately without cancellation) and was looking forward to my annual vacation. Two days before my departure for Malta, the Minister of Health ban the entry of tourists without a vaccine !!! This canceled all my plans! The host of the hotel didn’t show understanding and keeped the entire amount for the reservation, although it wasn’t my fault that I can not enter the country. He didn’t even agreed to change the dates of stay. He offered me to pay him another extra 200 euros fee if I want to change the booking details. The studio is modest and does not offer extras, but it is the most expensive I have booked. I experienced the great disappointment of the hospitality and fairness to the tourists in Malta!
Nothing good!

United KingdomIt was very overpriced, I thought I booked the last room only to discover next day similar suite for 2 people was over £200 less. It was just a standard suite. There were crumbs falling from the ceiling, so couldn't keep food and clothes exposed. The water pressure in the wash basin was very slow and low. Shower was fine.
Location was great which is the main reason for choosing this suite. There were a lot of stairs to get here but I soppose it's similar every where in that area
