We didn't like Flic en Flac as it was quite dirty, but Silver Sands is a real pearl.

Malina and Harry were perfect hosts and gave us superb communication from the minute we booked. Our flight arrived way before the checkin time so they hadn't had time to prepare our room when we arrived, but we were welcomed into their restaurant and invited to help ourselves to a complimentary drink whilst we waited. They kindly stored our luggage too. Being tired from our journey we asked if we could eat at the restaurant, the Shack, and despite being very busy Malina squeezed us in. The meal was amazing, full of so many flavours and an absolute bargain at about £13 for 3 courses. It was so good we ate there again and this time it was even more delicious. We're definitely fans of traditional Creole cuisine. The room was quite basic but large enough to spread ourselves out and very comfortable. It had everything we needed to prepare our own meals and my favourite thing was the terrace where you can relax in relative privacy away from the busier areas of Flic en Flac. Silver Sands is a little oasis, with its cleanliness, friendliness and tranquility. The rest of Flic en Flac we were rather disappointed with, I'm afraid as there was a lot of litter and smells. Silver Sands was a few minutes walk from the Jumbo supermarket, which has a good choice of products and is good value for money. There's also a lot of restaurants nearby, but we'd recommend eating at Silver Sands for its superior quality and value for money. The beach is a minute's walk and had some amazing sunsets. There's a lot of broken glass and coral, so wear beach shoes. Booking.com showed Silver Sands has having free airport shuttle. This is a mistake, but Malina's father will provide a shuttle service at a very competitive price. We booked a normal taxi from the airport as I thought we might do a bit of sight seeing on the way. In the event we were too tired.

Although the hosts were super nice, I think the communication between them could work better. I got messages from one host, who asked me to call the other one, which then didn't know which apartment I was signed up for :) Also the cleaner came to wake me up on the check-out day, even when I had told the other host that I would be leaving around 11 AM. The cleaner didn't speak English, so we didn't have a common language - the hosts were fluent in English. Both the A/C and the Wi-Fi worked just okay. There was some noise from the street on the weekend (loud music from cars going by, and some music from the bar nearby). These were just minor things, and I can highly recommend the place for its central location and great value.

This is a gated apartment building close to the beach, behind a (soon-to-be) cemetary. My understanding is that the hosts rent out multiple different apartments in the building. I got the one on the ground floor - the apartment was spacious and clean, but I preferred to keep the curtains closed at it had a fairly direct view to the street. The apartment is centrally located, with only a few minutes walk to the beach and the restaurants on the two main roads. I liked the easy parking on the gated yard. Self check-in was very easy. I also tried the restaurants in the same building, run by the hosts. The food was delicious, but it did take me two hours to have lunch (because of the wait times).

Malini is a great host, very friendly and a big reason for the success of the hotel. She does everything possible to make her guests enjoy their stay. She also cooks a typical Mauritian lunch which is very tasty. the hotel is situated in a very good location. the rooms are comfortable and very clean. . i would certainly stay at Silver Sands Hotel again.

I liked everything. If I would have to mention something to improve, I would suggest to replace the shower's curtain as at times, the water can go all over the floor.

Excellent location, good Wi-Fi, great host and affordable price. Really enjoyed my stay and would go back again. The apartments are across the road from the main beach and local restaurants/bars.

We highly recommend this place. Great standard vs price. The rooms are very spacious, clean and have ac. The apartment is 50 meters from the sea and you can enjoy delicious food in local food trucks. The owners are very helpful, we did not have any problem to prolong the check out. This place has also a private parking.

Excellent location. This was my 8th trip to Mauritius and it was the best location. Its walking distance to shops, bus stop and beach is across the road. I made prior arrangements with Marlene about pick up of the keys. Please note that property has minimum kitchen utensils. However, Marlene kindly assisted us with whatever we requested. That's a big thumbs up for me. I will definitely stay there again. Thank You Marlene and family

My only constructive suggestion is that a coffee plunger would be a fabulous addition to the studios!

We loved our stay at Silver Sands 3 star accommodation with it's wonderful location only moments walk to stunning Flic en Flac beach, great restaurants & bars & the supermarket. The studio accommodation is very spacious, clean & comfortable. We also felt very safe & secure with the building security set up. It's great value accommodation. Do not miss dining at the Creole Shack below the accommodation for a truly delicious authentic Creole dining experience. The team were so lovely, helpful & friendly to us. Thank you for a truly lovely stay and for your attentiveness and responsiveness to our family. We will definitely be back to stay at Silver Sands!

At the weekends, it can be a bit noisy at night as locals tend to drive around with music loudly on. But it's obviously folklore, nothing to be done 🤷‍♀️

Fantastic hosts, enormous room with a balcony, fan and aircon, clean, comfortable, fast wi-fi! At their restaurant on the ground floor, we ate the most delicious meals ever, prepared by kind and skilful Chef Malini ❣️ It's open for lunch - you eat what they prepare, no menu. Delicious creolefood - curry of all kinds, chutneys, definitely the best gato pima on the island, and the coconut ice cream is beyond! #CreoleShack just rocks! But beware, it can be sold out, so call for reservation or drop in early! Location is steps away from the beach with food stands, as well as very close to the centre of Flic en Flac, where you can find all kinds of restaurants, markets, patisserie, massages, post office, ATM and everything you need. Just two villas away, you can rent scooters to explore the beaches nearby, bus stop is practicly in front of the apartment. We had a wonderful stay here, it felt like home!

Our one restaurant experience was absolutely terrible. This was at Anelia Resort spa just down the road. They overcharged horrendously, and we had starving cats trying to steal the food off our plates

Silver Sands has close beach across the road, the snorkelling across the road, the SCUBA diving with Ticabo, proximity of food stores and fruit and veg sellers. We were able to pre order fabulous, home cooked, traditional Mauritian fare, better than any restaurant. Superb, always hot, showers

nothing negative to say

we had a lovely stay at silver sands. well furnished studio, with a kitchen that had anything you needed to cook simple meals and breakfast. Also with a lovely balcony with ocean view. The studio was well located with a 2 minute walk to the beach and around 5 minutes walk to the supermarket. You couldn’t hear the cars from the main road but it got really noisy in the weekend when cars started playing loud music. The women owning the place was the most lovely and caring person, always making sure we were good. It is also possible to buy a home cooked meal for lunch or dinner (best creole food we tasted!)

Dishes and bathroom not very clean. Bed is uncomfortable. The area smells and during weekends/ public holidays is very loud at night from people traffic around the area.
