Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNeed a basura and broom in the room.
Well here it is. The last unmolested piece of Puerto Morelos.... This is a gorgeous place to stay - right on the beach with the wind blowing through the window. Fairly basic rooms but the location is prime. You need a bike to get in and out of town - Green Bikes are great the owner will drop them to you. I could have stayed here forever.

Canadalocation. it is a pain to have to walk all the way into town to eat and you have to plan your day around it which means less time for relaxing. the taxi back from town is 300 pesos so I mostly walked and that was fine but a bit time consuming. also there was no fridge or anything in my room which means you pretty much have to eat out.
lovely to be right on the beach and very quiet. there was only me and one other woman staying when I was there so it was super chill and I had the whole beach area to myself a lot. massage was great and much recommended and my room (cabin 6) had its own little balcony which was great to hang out on and watch the ocean from without getting sandy feet!

United StatesWe didn't have the breakfast or any of the food. Not even sure what they had, as we left early for a show. The coffee was expensive, and only powdered milk provided.
There is a nice seating area of tables and chairs, 100 feet from the sea, that we used at night to drink our own beer and play games. The bar was closed. There is also an excellent beach lounge area closer to the water. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

United StatesThe pillows were a bit hard... And that's the worst thing I could say about this place... Not a whole lot wrong!! Amazing place!
There's not really a lot of food offered, think bar food snacks. The place itself is amazing! Private arts of beach, perfect sun. The rooms are super cute... Mattresses and pillows could be updated. There aren't tvs, but the internet is alright. The host and staff were incredible!

BelgiumFar from the center. If you don't have a car or the budget for a taxi, it's by foot on the beach for half at least half an hour one way. If you are super sportive, no problem!
On the beach, beautifull sunset and sunrise views, nice cabanas, good bed and very friendly staff!

United KingdomNothing really. I didn't have high expectations just for one night's stay. I do recommend going by car like we did so you can visit Puerto Morelos for food as the restaurant has few options. Also, the nearby resorts can be a bit loud but not until late
The simple and charming feel of the place - very laid back and relaxed, call it "degraded chic". Apparently this was the first beach resort in this area before all the all inclusive resorts appeared. Amazing how, although surrounded by all these luxury resorts, we could still feel the original peaceful vibe of the place. Even though we only stayed one night I still managed to take a snorkelling trip to the nearby reef with the independent tour operator on the beach. Definitely worth it, even on a rainy day like that. Service was great and there was also a convenience store behind the cabanas. As with most places in Mexico, the room was super clean. I liked the fact that locals not staying at the cabanas could use the beach and restaurant, made me feel like a local too!

United StatesBeds are matrimonial...a little small. The private suite was a little drafty at night on a cold winter night (but still delightful). You can hear trucks passing in the morning, but otherwise peaceful unless there's a big party next door. Little convenience store around the corner convenient, but otherwise no food around and taxis are kinda pricey into town and from the airport (~$50 USD from airport).
What a delightful place right on the water! Beds are comfortable, sufficient. Hot water in the showers. Windows on each side of every unit allow for lovely breeze, even in the downstairs. Massage tent in the back with $40 massages (usd). Only 40 minutes walking on the beach into town. Everyone attending us went a little above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. (The lovely Doña Canchi made us salsa special for our breakfast one day.)

BelgiumThe location has its drawbacks, it is some 30-40 minutes walk to the center of Puerto Morelos (although a pleasant walk along the beach) and there is nothing around apart from big hotels, so you can't buy food or drinks anywhere. And because of the hotel zone taxis to and from the cabanas are quite expensive (everyone tries to get some 300 pesos cubanos, the cheapest you can negotiate is 200).
The location. The cabanas are situated beautifully at the beach. The staff (Andres) wad very helpful and nice. The cabana has all the basic facilities, yet some refreshing would be welcome.

IrelandI liked everything about the property, just keep in mind it is three kilometers from town center and taxi is notoriously expensive in Puerto Morelos, so if you love walking it is not a problem.
It is authentic, probably one of the last ones left

United StatesWould love more food options and overall is fairly rustic, with few amenities. But thats the intent of a cabana stay, so it's not really a complaint
Beautiful spot, right on the beach, nice and secluded, very homey and calm. The one guy who seemed to be running the place was very nice, he communicated well and checked in on us while going about property maintenance and called us a cab when we needed. Everything was wonderful

United StatesThe location is 3 kilometers to town, not 2 as mentioned. Walkable on the beach, but a long trip. We found cabs to be expensive and the roads behind the resorts to town are very confusing and not easily walkable. The room was fairly clean, however it severely needs updating. A simple cheap shower curtain is an easy upgrade from the rusty, moldy one that is there. Everything needs painting, or is rusty, or crooked, or dinged. Holes in the palapa roof let in mosquitos. WiFi spotty, bedding barely adequate. If you are a child of the 70s barefoot and in cut- offs and stayed on the beaches in Mexico, this place will feel familiar. If you have children, expect a simple clean room, and any other kind of service this is not the place for you!
The location was very nice, right on the beach. The staff was super friendly. The little eco lodge has a fantastic opportunity for improvement, and it could be done with a little extra care and maintenance. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was good.
