Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CroatiaThe bathroom flooded after each showering and it took a while for it to dry. There should be something on the floor to keep it from flooding the entire bathroom. Also the room was very noisy, the street was really alive in the evening so it was sometimes hard to fall asleep.
Great location and staff. Everyone was really helpful and warm and they even let me check-in much earlier. The place is right in the old city center so I loved it. You also have a choice of breakfast at two different restaurants. Hotel Canada is a great choice for solo travelers and the price and location and what you get are really good.

GermanyWhile we stayed there the whole upper floor where the restaurant used to be was made up. There were 2 places where we could go for breakfast one down the street one a bit further away. This was unexpected as the hotel didn't tell us beforehand. This also implied that there were loud noises from the workers during the day. Windows didn't shut properly, next door was a bar which played loud electronic music till late hours so you have to fall asleep hearing the base, earplugs are recommended! Staff was not unfriendly but also not very warm. We had a late flight so after checking out there are no toilets you can use while waiting. Very crowded surroundings.
Area is quite safe, deluxe room was okay.

ChileThe place is very noisy. My first night I was in a bedroom facing the side where the Bar Patas Negras is. There was loud music till past 1:30 am. I asked them to change me to another room, they were very understanding and they moved me to a much better located room for my second and last night (though there was still traffic noise, it was bearable). Breakfast is provided by two taquerías (while they renovate, apparently?). It was okay but not tasty.

United StatesOur room 112 is next to the elevator and stairs. One can hear people coming and going and talking early in the morning and late at night. It’s a great place to stay. I would request a room away from the stairs and elevator next time.
