Nothing about the property itself, however it is next door to a bar which can late in the afternoon get quite loud / rowdy. Was not ideal for us, but may be appealing to others.

The location is great - love walking out straight onto the beach and convenient to lots of great restaurants / bars.

The rooms were a bit loud due to the noisy fridge and airco. There was nit enough closet space to unpack luggage properly.

The staff is simply excellent. They feel you make at home and take care of every detail. They help to plan your journey on this beautiful island. Great communication with Whatsapp. The view from the terraces and the sunset are amazing! The breakfast was simply divine: every morning something else, all freshly served with a smile.

The bedding, like a duvet or thicker blanket would be appreciated. Some of the lightbulbs were out.

This was an extremely pleasant surprise, the service was excellent, the room comfortable and the location A+. The breakfast was actually the best food we had on the island. All in all a great experience!

We had the best possible experience at Casa Cat Ba. A hotel elsewhere had let us down at the last minute, so Casa Cat Ba gave us the warmest welcome possible, taking care of us and making us feel at home immediately. The tight-knit, friendly team are hugely kind and flexible, speak perfect English, and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms are beautiful and really well-equipped, containing absolutely everything you might need - from a beach bag to a hairdryer to really thoughtfully-chosen toiletries, there are lots of little touches that make a difference. It’s brilliantly located and the view at breakfast and sunset is gorgeous. If you’re looking for a more personal experience than the larger hotels in Holbox can offer, and want to feel at home in beautiful surroundings, we can’t recommend Casa Cat Ba enough.

Cannot fault this place really.

The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, they assisted with booking taxis and with restaurant recommendations, they also gave us a complimentary drink. The little touches were really nice such as the books in the room, communal sunscreen/bug spray to use and there were cookies provided daily. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast; not too heavy and it was the best breakfast we had during our stay in 5 hotels in the Yucatan. This was the last part of our honeymoon and it was really nice to finish this way. Thank you!

The property is quaint, unassuming and designed with perfection. Everyone who works here is kind and extremely helpful. Upon arrival, I received a welcome drink to have at any time, information about Holbox, information and recommendations on restaurants including the offer of making reservations. If you are looking for a peaceful stay just steps away from the central streets to explore and your walk to mosquito point, this is your place.

The beach front is not as nice as we expected and the price was a little too high for the quality for the room.

Our stay at Casa Cat Ba was wonderful from the moment we arrived. We arrived a bit later than the last check-in time but this was accommodated with no problem and we were greeted with a lovely welcome! The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach and less than a 5 minute walk into town. Throughout our stay the girls were so helpful with providing great restaurant recommendations and helping us book excursions (kayaking) and advising us on the best places on the island to see wildlife and the bioluminescence. We really enjoyed the breakfast menu, the chefs would prepare a different Mexican delicacy every day. The sincronizadas were especially delicious! We were also delighted by the package of cookies that we received every night before bed. Thank you so much to everyone at Casa Cat Ba for making our stay in Holbox so relaxing!

The breakfast was delicious and freshly made, but perhaps it would be nice to present two alternatives so the guests are able to choose a bit more. Just an idea we had, but really it was all great, you won’t regret choosing this hotel.

We loved everything, we came back a month ago and still talk about Casa Cat Ba (and Holbox in general) everyday! We stayed in the suite on the top floor which was absolutely mindblowing. The terrace is amazing and I just wish we had more time to enjoy it! The staff was also nice and the location is great.

Our stay at Casa Cat Ba was perfect, and we ended up extending our stay by 2 nights. The location of the property ideal - on a quiet stretch of the beach, with lots of pelicans and other birds, but also within a 5 min walk to the centre of Holbox. The rooms are no more than 10 metres away from the beach, and all the rooms have sea views. A delicious two-course breakfast was served each morning. The staff were super friendly and gave us recommendations for restaurants and activities. Overall, I couldn't recommend this place enough.

The place is just on front of the water, so 2 steps and you are inside the water. Our spacious room on the second floor was overlooking the beach and very enjoyable. Ivette, the owner and the reception desk are very helpful and extremely nice to the guests. The breakfast was excellent

Just two minor things: our room was on the ground floor just in front of the communal patio and we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy when we were in the room, and we couldn’t enjoy the sea view. The other thing we didn’t enjoy was that unlike other hotels nearby, sun beds face the fence so it is not possible to enjoy the sea.

Casa Cat Ba is beautiful and quiet. Room is large and curated in every detail. We loved the small breakfast table with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea. We loved Holbox and the hotel so much that we decided to extend our stay.

Fantastic hotel! Right in front of the beach! Great location, close to all the amenities but at the same time peaceful. The staff was super helpful and very kind. The air-conditioning was very good and the place was very clean. We'll definitely be back. At the beginning we booked for 3 nights, but we added 2 more nights because it was great and we didn't want to leave. We didn't find any mosquitoes! Good breakfast with fruit and yogurt plus a main dish, that always varies every day.

This is a boutique hotel right on the beach. The setting is just beautiful. We stayed in room 1 and room 4 and both were perfect. Plenty of room, great beds, and bathroom. Loved the balcony to see the sunset and relax with a book. The breakfast is very personal and very tasty! There is a nice area on the ground level to sit at the bar, lay on a lounger or relax on the outdoor couch with tons of cushions. The staff is very attentive to all of your needs.

My favourite part of the hotel was the incredible view from the room. The view of the calm water, beautiful beach and palm trees were the perfect scene to wake up to each morning. The hotel is beautifully designed, intimate and just the perfect place to relax by the beach. The location of the hotel is excellent and lots of great little spots close by on the beach to get drinks and food and go for a walk. The lounge chairs were very comfortable and a nice private area to relax. Perfectly situated on the beach and in the centre of the city with lots of great restaurants, coffee shops and activities steps away. We went around the whole island and saw a lot of other hotels, and this was by far the best location in Holbox if you are looking for a beach experience as well as a city experience. Its very quite at night even though its in the central area of town. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The beds were very comfortable with big pillows and nice bedding and very cozy and luxurious. We had an unforgettable stay here!

honestly, the place is very relaxing, rooms well designed and stylish. it’s based along the perfect middle ground on holbox, easy access to hotel area/sand bank, in town so plentiful restaurants and necessities as well as a outdoor market. it’s also near the quieter side to the left and overall feels quiet at night. sunset views. great bathroom shower products, made my hair super shine. wonderful staff, who go beyond the call of duty to ensure a comfortable stay. I was lucky enough to try 3 rooms across 3 days. ordinarily I hate moving around preferring to settle in, however I was lucky to get an upgrade to the honey moon top floor suite for my first evening which was a real treat. if you can afford it, it really is the best room of the place - an entire floor and massive terrace to yourselves. budget room number 5 feels less private as shares its outdoor space with the main lounge area / breakfast area. rooms mid level 4 / 3 / 2 feel like the best options for mid level budgets as all provide small terrace with deck chairs and sunset / sea / palmtree views breakfast good, different main every day, nice mix.

The bathroom felt a little outdated. It still had a lovely island feel but maybe a little uplift.

Thought this hotel was great. Lovely location on the beach and the sun loungers set just above the beach meant you were just set back which we liked (especially so we could comfortably leave our stuff whilst going in the sea). Wasn’t noisy at night despite being right next to the town centre. Breakfast was always nice, it’s a small hotel so they have fruit/granola + 1 option for a salty dish which changed each day. Catered to dietary requirements and we really enjoyed.
