Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- Lighting is terrible (makes for difficulty getting ready) - AC was in desperate need of a service (noisy and not cold - we were moved to a different room due to a broken unit and the new rooms unit was worse)
Beautiful property, design was wonderful and convenient with shops downstairs and a restaurant. The rooftop pool was a lovely addition along with the rooftop bar/ restaurant where we had some good cocktails and a great lunch by the pool

Food, design, service were all excellent. The room - number 3 - had a funky smell - perhaps due to the air conditioner. It made everything feel less “clean” - even though the cleanliness of the room was very good.

United KingdomCharging for extras such as Western breakfast or cappucino opposed to a black coffee. Thought the ground floor was a bit odd with other restaurants / shops. Not to take away from the beautiful hotel. We probably booked the wrong location - apart from landmarks, we really didn't like Centro and should have booked to stay in Roma, the hipster area. Better bars, felt safer and more our vibe.
Great breakfast. Lovely rooftop. Beuatiful rooms, albeit a bit dark. Let us use the pool after check out, which was great, as we wanted some sunshine before our flight.

United KingdomThe lighting in the rooms was very low and difficult. We would’ve liked a kettle so we could make tea and coffee in the mornings.
A lovely quirky hotel in a former Spanish mansion built in the 17th century. Had lots of atmosphere and the rooms were large and the staff were excellent. The location is brilliant as you are just near the historic centre so easy to get to the Aztec, Temple and Cathedral and some brilliant, Restaurants, chops and chops

United KingdomThe lighting in the room and generally in the hotel was awful. Very dark. Lifts, lobby, breakfast area. A staff member was banging on my door at 11pm which woke me up and spoke fluent Spanish down my ear and when i said I could only speak English I got a disgusting look and she walked off. The tips. All staff members kept bartering for tips, at breakfast and upstairs in the bar area. Whether your from a tipping culture or not I felt I had to tip whether the service was there or not. Why should I have to tip at breakfast when I've already paid a lot of money to be there. If your in the courtyard above the restaurant don't expect to get any asleep after 7am or before midnight so so loud nearly as loud as the air con. Hot tub too hot to go in and the pool was like an ice bath
The staff throughout were good to me and helped me into my dress which was a bonus. Location was great it's just zocola main square dependant on foot traffic you could be there in 5 minutes. Food was delicious and breakfast was OK. Cleaning/downturn at night was a nice touch.

United KingdomBe aware that you are choosing to stay in a trendy venue in the centre of the historic district with lots of noise! If you’re looking for a great place to party this is it - anything else … not it.

SwitzerlandI think this property has great potential but struggles to meet that due to a number of issues. Very important: the AC was not working half way through our stay. We had a room with no windows so we couldn’t exactly open for fresh air. We felt like we slept in a hot box. Fan was working but it’s loud and due to the high ceiling it made the noise worse. When I told the staff they were willing to move us to another room but it was late and I didn’t want to do that. Rooms should not be having this issue specially ones without windows. I think for the price this really brought the experience down. Bathroom ventilation was terrible, we could smell the mould after each shower. If the doors had curtains or the room had high up windows then it would allow ventilation. Honestly curtains at the door would be a game changer. Also for safety I think the lift should have a key access so only hotel guests can access that floor otherwise feels a little unsafe. The bathroom is very open so it might not be ideal for friends or colleagues staying together or even for some couples. We were fine with it though.
The staff made the stay really lovely. They were very attentive. Very responsive via WhatsApp. The rooftop is breathtaking. Loved the pool bar and being able to swim and see history around us. This brings me to next point, location is perfect to explore the historic centre. Walking distance to everywhere. Really loved how you walk into the building and the hotel is like a hidden oasis upstairs with the canopy of the huge trees from ground floor. The mural in the sitting area is so beautiful. My favourite place was probably the sitting/breakfast area with the greenary and famous mural at the stairs. The room was very spacious and the shower was perfect. I loved how spaced out the whole room was and enjoyed the tall ceiling. Absolutely loved how clean the space was. We checked out very early and the staff organised takeaway breakfast for us - absolutely loved that. Welcome drink was also greatly appreciated. It was margarita and that’s their specialty. The light features in the room were really cool. Oh and loved the boutique amenities and the presentation. The colours of the room were also amazing. Definitely worth staying but check the things I didn’t like below to make sure it suits your needs. Specially ensure AC is working in your room.

United KingdomTiny things really. A coffee machine in the room would have been a plus, and if the hotel had provided a couple of bottles of bottled water. The bathroom situation is slightly strange, there are curtains instead of solid doors in each of the bedrooms.
The location is amazing and the staff are just wonderful. The building itself is beautifully historic and the food and drinks we had at the hotel were exceptional. Gorgeous rooftop pool. Its an oasis of calm in the city centre.
