Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur room was directly poolside allowing us to enjoy the beautiful garden-like setting of the pool area—a very serene and peaceful space. The room was nicely decorated though we found the beds to be a little more firm than comfortable. The mini-fridge in the room was helpful. The air conditioning worked very well. Good location and felt very safe.

FinlandVery hard beds, quite outdated, small room. Water in the pool looked turpid, kids didn't want to swim there. Very loud music in the restaurant on valentines day, you could hear it in the room as well as you were sitting in the restaurant.
We had to night stay in the hotel, staff was nice and breakfast good.

United KingdomWiFi wasn't great but this seems to be a nationwide hotel issue. Care required on slippery tiled floor and stairs leading to the rooms when it has rained.
Quiet neighbourhood away from the loud partying centre. This also meant cafes and restaurants nearby were more affordable. Close to the beautiful Playa Esmeralda beach. It is about 3km away from the action but there are Colectivos running regularly to get you into town for M$10 a ride (wish we knew this when we declined a taxi charging us M$400 on our arrival). Spacious room with useful kitchenette. Free supply of drinking water. Secure front of building with key supplied. Staff was available for any needs. Quick check-in. Decent showers. Comfortable firm beds.

ItalyHappy with everything
The room was quite spacious along with the bathroom. They also have a free private parking which was very convenient for us. The staff was helpful even though they don’t speak English. This Hotel is located just outside the city centre and it takes 20min to get there.

Czech Republic- Pool was quite dirty on the surface which didn't really invite us to swim - Location is quite away from the center (15 min walk or taxi for 40 pesos) - door was not sound proof and had like 5 cm hole between ground so you could hear noise from the street + during our stay there was some event next door and party was going until 1 or 2 am in the morning, could hear music even with ear plugs - door to shower didn't close perfectly so water got everywhere
Staff were helpful, we found it handy that they were willing to do room service (bring food from restaurant to our room) and let us check in earlier. Room had nice seating in a private mini patio

PolandFar from the centre. You need to drive or take a taxi to get to the main square. Three different wifi networks - one in the room, one in the lobby and another one in the restaurant. The bar closes 10pm.
Good, budget option. Clean and comfortable. Nice staff. Parking place. Good starting point for Chichen Itza and cenotes around. Easy to find from the main roads.

NetherlandsGreat value for money considering we were there only for few hours and going from a location to another one. Staff won't be there early in the morning, so don't checkout before 8am. Beds and rooms are good, great parking service considering how busy Valladolid can be.

FranceThe hotel is really nice: rooms are named after cenotes. The room is very big, clean and fully equipped, the bed was very comfortable. The spa bath on the terrace (more a small pool than a jacuzzi) was really good to relax after a long day out exploring. The availability of a private parking at this location was a huge plus! Finally the breakfast was so delicious and the portions were quite big, so good.

United KingdomUnfortunately lots of noise - some from building work happening nearby that started up incredibly early. We also had loud room neighbours! Pool was dirty and full of leaves but could be to do with off-season.
Staff were helpful, even calling a taxi for us to get to the cenote. Breakfast was included and freshly made, good choices. Room was very large and had smart TV all set up. Walking distance into the main area.
