Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNot too many beds available at the pool. No service at the pool. You had to go to the bar to order something (which took ages). Missed chance, they could earn much more if they would just walk around and ask if people would like to order something. Staff could be more friendly. Seemed that they not really wanted to service tourists. It felt almost like a burden to order something.
We had a very spacious room with 2 double beds. Room was very clean. Door to the bathroom was shutter-style, which was a bit weird when you are travelling with friends. Although you could not really see through it, it also felt not very closed. Clean pool. Nice breakfast. Standard you get 1 juice, max 2 coffee and some bread and jam. On top of that you can order 1 simple extra dish, like eggs or some traditional Mexican breakfast options. Perfect location in the center of Valladolid. Free parking.

United StatesWe got the double room with double beds. The mattress are a little bit too hard for my liking my husband and niece slept like babies.
Location Location Location! Right in the heart of Valladolid. Its really close to ADO bus station we walked but if carrying large luggage it would be difficult. It’s a beautiful building, staff was always helpful and extremely nice. Breakfast was included which was great and delicious! Would definitely recommend and come back. We didn’t get the chance to use the pool but it looked nice and clean. Rooftop view is beautiful.

Meson del Marques is a beautiful hotel in the city center. Has a private parking included, close to the rooms. Rooms are ok and they are renovating. The swimming pool is available almost all day. Food is excellent, amazing breakfast: can’t stop dreaming about papaya jam!

Cayman IslandsNothing. I wish we had stayed longer but we were one a Yucatan ruins road trip. If we came back to Valladolid, would definitely stay at this hotel.
The location was key and having parking available in the heart of the town was a huge plus. We were upgraded to a room overlooking the restaurant courtyard so there it wasnt quiet BUT we still appreciated the room with balcony and view and honestly the noise just felt like part of the experience of the vibrance of Valladolid. The Meson courtyard restaurant was amazing for dinner as was the free hotel breakfast.

United StatesThe pool was FREEZING. This was probably welcome during the hot day, but the sun had dipped behind the hotel when we finally got a chance to use it. The smaller pool / hot tub was also cold.
Location was great. Restaurant looked delicious, but we didn't eat there. I wanted to check out the restaurant overlooking the square, but we only had a short stay. Not enough time. They packed us a breakfast to go, which was perfect for our early morning in Chichen Itza.

United StatesThe power outlets had low voltage. My phone took all night to charge. I tried multiple chargers across all outlets and it was all the same. I came for leisure wasnt a problem for me to charge once all day but if you depend on electriciry for work or laptops i can see this being a problem. I also didnt like that the bathroom/bedroom doesnt have curtains. The windows are facing a wall but I personallt still felt a bit uncomfortable to shower.
It was clean right at the center of the city. 10 out of 10 on location. Restaurant inside hotel. Tourist office right outside the hotel made it easy. Oxxo is one block away for 24 hr coffee/snack. Very safe city.

DenmarkSlow service in restaurant despite loads of staff - many just standing without serving and took long time to get small things(like a spoon or glass of water not to mention getting orders taken) High prices in bar - mini bottle of water at 60 pesos and bad (small) margarita at 155 pesos Restaurant feels a bit like a train station as it is also a back entrance to the hotel with tours leaving through it
Excellent location- second to none in Valladolid Beautiful restored historic buildings with modern rooms Rooftop bar and lounge area Relaxing pool area with free towels Good food
