Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It was fairly pleasant and reasonably comfortable.

MexicoThe staff was great very friendly. Room is very nice has everything you need. Only part that wasn't 5 star was the location the walk to the main area at night you run into some strange people. It's not terrible or anything just not ideal. But all in all a great property to stay at.

United KingdomThe price was too high for my 4 night stay £517. I initially booked for 5 nights for the same price, but Aeromexico changed my flight, forcing me to cut my stay to 4 nights with no price reduction. The photo of the pool makes it look larger than what it really is. Also, it's about a 25 min walk to the beach or about 20 mins to the bars and restaurants near the marina.
The staff were nice and helpful with info regarding getting back to the airport for a cheap price (Ruta del Desierto Airport Bus 85 Pesos). There was always a good supply of quality towels in the bathroom. There was a small shop on site which sold coffee, snacks, and where you could order a basic breakfast.

CanadaWe hoped to relax more at the hotel during our weeklong stay, but there is no balcony furniture (we bought a camping chair there to use) and the courtyard area was very active from early morning through late evening. The army of staff really enjoyed eating meals together in the courtyard with lots of loud banter, and firing down linens from upper floors to laundry staff near the pool. It’s awesome they all seem to enjoy each other and working there but it was odd to have it so front and center. The combination of the overly active staff and the new but uncomfortable poolside seating/lounging options made it impossible for me to relax there. The pool temperature was too cool for me as well. Our second room faced the street so my earplugs were important through the night… part of the trade off for an end unit with more light and privacy I guess. If the $12K pesos for the week included daily breakfast, I would rate the value higher but we found the whole area to be more expensive than expected. As a Level 2 Genius my bonus was an “upgraded room” but it appears all their rooms are suites with kitchenettes; perhaps the initial poolside location was their upgrade, though it wasn’t appreciated by us.
Without a doubt, the friendly staff was much appreciated. Checkin and checkout was quick and easy, though only one room key was available. We enjoyed the rustic charm of this traditional hotel and its proximity to the marina area was great for us because it encouraged us to get our steps in every day! The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. It was nice to have the kitchenette but we didn’t cook in the room. Our first “upgraded” room (110) was poolside and too busy/exposed for us, so they found us a great new room (301) that was more private with much more light. The convenience store onsite was a bonus as was the optional breakfast in the courtyard for an extra charge (why not include this?) We enjoy being at a hotel with more Mexican nationals than foreign visitors because it is more authentic and helps us interact in Spanish. The pizza restaurant across the street was outstanding and we enjoyed Cafe Cabo a few blocks away for morning coffee and pastries. Hotel Santa Fe is well cared for and there were friendly workers everywhere for a relatively small hotel; the photos do make the common areas appear larger than they really are. Daily housekeeping service was great!
