The smell outside room 12 was pungent. The bathroom floor was always wet and toilet sometimes hard to flush. I sometimes felt like I was having to bother restaurant/bar staff to order food or pay the check. Not much actual “service”. I wish the dock at lounge chairs to make it absolutely perfect!

The VIBE! Santiago at the front desk was amazing! I arrived so early on a night bus and the overnight security kindly let me in and gave me a cup a coffee. I got to watch the sunrise and enjoy the water before checkin. The rooms had AC in the evening. I loved the sunset kayak tour we did with David and the sunrise yoga. The property has good areas for lounging and the access to the lagoon is 100.

Bathroom has some mold. Dock to access the water was under construction when I was there but I think when it is finished it is a nice dock to access the water. Music at the bar was for me sometimes too loud during the day.

Amazing location, good kitchen, nice that you can book all tours in the hostel. Nice activities. Very clean!

Epic location, both to the lake and to town. Our private room was lovely, clean and spacious (with good aircon!) and great bathrooms (hot, good water pressure). Friendly helpful staff. Awesome bar and lounging area. Would definitely stay again!

The ventilators in the dorms are very loud.

The location is absolutely great, and there is a lot of animation. You do not come here to have a calm time but to enjoy. The staff was very professional, but especially Santiago was extremely helpful and kind - a great host! Thanks again!

If you stay in the dorms and you have one of the beds farther away from the AC, you are gonna be hot at night. The air circulation is not optimal, even with fans. In my room, the AC unit was facing the bathroom (!!!) and people left the door open, so the air was poorly distributed. The privacy curtains could be way better! The refrigerator is too small for the amount of guests. I thought neon face painting would be provided to party goers on Wednesday :(

There was music at the bar during the day and louder music at night. For me personally that’s unnecessary, as I’m looking for a bit more peace and calm. It was nothing too crazy though and I didn’t have any problems with it in my room.

The location is beautiful and unique, with a direct view on the lagoon. The facilities are good too, there is a bar with sunbeds and a kitchen you can use. Dorm room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff is super nice - big shout out to Santi, he was very helpful in case of questions or if you just wanted to have a nice chat :)

Some things to improve: end of peer was kind of in renovation, bathroom could be also renewed. Kitchen / fridge was not that well equipped, but this did not bother me as i was not really cooking

I would say that the best of the hostel is the staff especially reception. I have rarely been in such flexible and uncomplicated hostel / hotel, cancellation, prolonging stay etc great customer service, you really feel like a valued customer

The rooms are incredibly noisy. You could hear the people walk upstairs above your head. Also, the party outside sounded like it was taking place in my bed instead. Location at the water is gorgeous, but don't go to the Yak Lake Hostel if you want to sleep.

Bathrooms were pretty mouldy due to humidity. Some planned activities didn't happen. Some lockers were temperamental and a few of us had to get staff assistance opening/resetting them, which was annoying - but staff were very patient and helpful.

This place had an amazing vibe from the second I walked in. Very friendly, helpful staff. Super chilled, and the view from the terrace over the lake was incredible 😲 lots of activities most nights - salsa, karaoke, parties, picnics, to keep you busy. Lovely, sociable place to hang for a few days and meet other travellers. Great location near restaurants and shops.

Awesome views, it's right at the lake shore! Swimming is so-so, water was dirty, I recommend to swim from the public pier about 500 metres south from the hostel (at 18°40′29.75″N 88°23′19.85″W)

The location is incredible and it’s amazing to wake up to the lake everyday. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I stayed at a room at the back so didn’t get any noise (recommend asking for this if you prefer an early night). The parties and activities were great. Affordable restaurant and bar. Excellent hostel!
