Wifi kept dropping out. You couldn't get into beach restaurant without a booking. And when you booked, all the beach view tables were 'reserved' but then those tables would stay empty from 7 till 9. Weird

The best breakfast variety I have ever had in all my travels. We stayed in a forest cabin with a sea view. Best of both worlds. The option of having lunch and dinner at 4 different restaurants. The Pan Thai restaurant was outstanding and the 3 course meals provided excellent value for money. And to top it all, the minibar in your room is complimentary :)

Need to warn people in advance of arrival to book spa treatments or availability very limited. Some freshening up of rooms need - bathrooms. Service pretty slow in the brasserie.

Good variety in choice of restaurants and places to relax. Shuttle service to chalets. Nice beach and pool areas. Lovely spa. Walkable to the cable car (also shuttle one way).

My only regret is not staying longer. Naturally, with such a high turnover of guests there is wear and tear on the hotel, but the staff do a great job of staying on top of things and responding to personal requests. We spotted a monkey damaging the fascia boards of a chalet so I suspect that they (and the storms) are responsible for some of the exterior damage like missing tiles, but this is minimal and it didn't make a difference to our stay.

There's a reason why I came back after 24 years...! Having stayed several times as a child with family I was struck even then by the warm hospitality of the staff and I was so pleased to find that nothing has changed all these years later. The hotel lobby is beautiful and airy, the rainforest chalets are a little haven of privacy, the pool is clean and well maintained, the beach is exceptionally pretty and tidy, the food is excellent and plentiful (very reasonably priced too, expect to pay £20/couple for dinner with drinks), there are activities to get involved with and all the staff are incredibly obliging. Breakfast is a huge buffet of all different cuisines. I had fish curry and rice one day, cheese and an omelette the next, fruit and cereal with pastries on another. There are 5-6 options for lunch/dinner as well as in-room dining. Western food is available as well as local, Chinese and Thai. Vegetarians are also catered for - special mention for the butter paneer and chana masala! The beach bar is brilliant. There is a huge range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. A cocktail will set you back just 20-22MR (APPX. £3.40). Crucially, the private beach is clean. I was worried that there would be a lot of ocean plastic and polystyrene washing up but happily there was almost none. The water is warm and crystal clear. There are jellyfish around but I didn't see any, only fish. The rooms are accessible via shuttle bus. They are available on demand from the lobby/room and run 24hrs. 31-year old me is still as excited as 7-year old me was the first time I rode it to our chalet! They can drop you at the cable car as well which is right next door. You can also hire towels for 10MR for excursions from the hotel. Highlights for us include the friendly monkeys snacking on leaves around the hotel, sipping fresh coconuts on the beach and being entertained by the live music every evening. This was honestly paradise.

The Berjaya is a great place for r & r but 3 days is long enough to get the most out of the resort.

We spent 3 nights in a Seaview Chalet which was spacious, clean and comfortable and then one night in a rainforest chalet which was small with very loud creaky floorboards in need of refurbishment. The staff are very friendly and the restaurants offer varied types of food of a reasonable standard. The Thai restaurant is very prettily situated at the end of a jetty and offers a nice way to see the sunset. The pool is located near the beach. The shuttle bus service to the chalets works well.

Only thing was the 1 Single Music Track that's played on repeat, non-stop... in both the Breakfast Restaurant & Pool Bar. It's a Panpipe style / "relaxation" song - but after 4 days it was driving us nuts! The staff seem unable to change it, even on request. Literally - 1x song played on a never ending loop at medium level volume...

Loved the Location, Pool and the secluded feel - with great access to Nature..

Staff was friendly and helpful. The chinese restaurant chef Raynar and the staff were supeb and rhe Dayang Cafe too. not forgetting the front desk, and the buggy was on time and friendly with a smiling face . It's definitely an older resort that needs some maintenance here & there, but everything was clean & in working order. Would stay again for the price!

Cute rainforest chalets with plenty of wildlife & pretty plants! Our chalet was nicely furnished & clean inside, with good air con! Considering the rainforest location, I was expecting some bugs (like mosquitoes) or geckos, but our chalet was very clean & well maintained. The pool bar was great & I Loved seeing the monkeys and birds around the resort.
