Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe sun deck by the beach is not particularly attractive or inviting and is one area that can be improved. The prices of the boat trips are much more expensive than the boat trips offered by every single other place on long beach. Suggest they drop the prices to fall in line with everyone else as the boats are the same.
The location is good, very close to the jetty and lots of other restaurants. The premier suite was amazing. Stunning views of the sea and the length of long beach. Very spacious and comfortable and well equipped (complementary mini bar, dressing gowns etc) and perfect for a family of 4 We also liked the swimming pool. Nice for a dip and whilst the website says it’s an adults only pool, kids are allowed to go in the pool and there were quite a few families there. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomRan out of beach towels every single day. Rather than put up a sign saying no more towels available maybe just buy some more? This is a basic essential for guests. Towels are not a big expense. Toilets off reception and changing rooms bit grim and basic I’d avoid this place if you have kids. It is quite an adult spot and people don’t like the children being in the pool and playing. There is no rule against kids in the pool (the hotel even sells water guns, balls and rubber rings for them to take in) but it’s clear families are not really wanted there but the predominantly adult guest population Also, avoid booking the boat trips through the hotel . We paid RM100 each for a snorkelling trip. We knew there were much cheaper offerings down the beach but we assumed this was a better quality hotel vetted trip. Instead the boat that picked us up and then went down the beach to pick up the others who had paid much less for the exact same tour. 14 felt too many in the small boat. There was also no snorkelling equipment for children despite us being reassured twice there would be. We paid for them but they had no appropriately sized mask etc so they could not actually snorkel.

SpainI like everything. The thing, for saying one, that like less is the price for the room. I think the price for our hotel is a little bit expensive.
I like everything. I was in Thailand last year, in PhiPhi island, and, for me, perhentian islands are better than the others, because is not really bussy and the people from the island are really good and polite people.

Australia1. The cost to house a family was pricey as we needed to book 2 separate hotel rooms (the family suites were even more expensive and understandably vacant). Keep in mind that inferior accommodation on Long Beach is also relatively expensive compared to the mainland. 2. Our room looked like it was due for maintenance work, particularly the tiles in the shower where grout was coming loose or non-existent. The ferry wharf of the island (presumably not part of the resort) was also starting to show a lot of wear and tear. Bear in mind though that it would be very difficult to get trades and materials out to a remote island like this.
1. Probably the best location on Long Beach, perched from an elevated location with great views of the length of Long Beach. The snorkelling just 20 metres from the resort was as good, if not better, than the snorkelling available via boat tours. 2. The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. They assisted with getting us from the sales office and onto the boat and didn't leave us second guessing ourselves. Midway through our stay, we made an unscheduled trip back to the mainland and the staff were super helpful both at the resort and from the sales office on the mainland to make sure we got there safely and returned safely.

Malaysia- Some signs of wear & tear on some bathroom fixtures, with minor cobwebs, but nothing a better housekeeping sweep cannot fix. - Besides that, nothing to complain about!
- All the staffs were incredible, from jetty office to onsite hotel staff. They helped us with parking, luggage, check in, made our stay as comfortable & enjoyable as possible. - Hotel is very well designed and comfortable, with the island breeze and impeccable view of the ocean. - I was quite hesitant about the jungle-view rooms, having read reviews about smells coming from the back-facing rooms, but throughout our stay, we didn't catch any whiff of unpleasant odour. - The bed was very comfortable, size of the room was great too. TV was great! - Slippers provided was a lifesaver as I forgot to bring my sandals. - The fully stocked pantry and fridge full of complimentary drinks were superb!

United KingdomI don't understand why hotels these days continue to provide small plastic bottles in rooms; this is not great for the environment and could be sorted by having glass, reusable, bottles and refill stations on each floor. The breakfast was ok, but very limited with the choices; it is also slightly frustrating to only have instant coffee options, but then have a connected café where you can PAY for a nice coffee instead. The hotel is already slated by other establishments on the beach for it's poor food provision, the coffee situation only exacerbates this further! The hotel doesn't serve alcohol; it's always nice to sit on the balcony in the evening with a cold beer, which can be purchased off-island or further down the beach, but it's not quite the same. Finally, whilst the staff were nice, they lacked some basic knowledge of the island, particularly where it might be possible to get cash. It can be quite problematic these days if establishments don't accept cards or app payments, so it would be good to have a better understanding of where to go under these circumstances, or advise customers before they arrive on the island that it might be best if they bring cash with them!
The general feel of the hotel was good, with a great spot just off the ferry port, which made accessibility good. It was also a fair distance away from the hustle and bustle of the island, so although at times you could hear the music from down the beach, it wasn't too distracting at night. The staff were generally pleasant, especially those working in the dining area at breakfast. The balcony was a nice size and it was great to overlook the bay, particularly in the evening. As a neat touch, it was also nice to have free soft drinks in the mini bar, which were topped up every day.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved them and so did our baby. The location was nice but quite dangerous how we had to arrive by boat and transfer between boats whilst carrying an infant (but worth it). Pool overlooking the beach was lovely.

All about the property is good except the cleaner. first time i step in the room, i feel it dusty, the never mop the floor i guess. second day there, i ask to change for new linen because my daugther vomit at night before and i ask for a new towel, but the cleaner just making the bed without change for new one. and she even put back the old towel for me to use. after i tell receptionist about that, she came to change the bed sheet and give me the new towel and say to me there will be charge for changing bedsheet, and she say that she was tired to clean, and the new towel is not dry yet. she ask for accounting work but given cleaners job. thats why she did not do proper work. every day my room cleaned except the dusty floor. staff at counter, bell boy, chef, diver coach, pool staf was really friendly. i'm sorry to tell this but this is my first time spending so much money to relax but that dusty floor really bothered me.
