Can’t beat the location! As for the staff, the gentleman who checked us in was so welcoming and even gave us some tips and things we needed to do, as we were leaving the city on King’s day. Yes, it’s an old hotel and decor and carpet may be old/outdated but you get what you pay for.

check in was a bit slow and there was no music to fill the awkward silence. there was no coffee machine in the room and you had to go to reception in the morning for a coffee. There were a few small silverfish bugs in the room.

We had road facing room and the windows are old wooden ones that are not soundproof at all. Earplugs are a must. I wish I booked the room with a double bed. The twin bed mattresses were very soft and were sliding off the bed during the night. Not the most comfortable sleep.

The location is simply superb. There is an alleyway right next door that leads you into the middle of the shopping street and has a metro station right in front so getting to the hotel from the airport was very easy. Walking distance from all the touristy food places and sights. The room size was also bigger than anything else we found in the area.

Best location. Accessible by tram and train. Everything is around walkable distance of less than 8-10 mins.

Even though the hotel has a lift there are still some intermediate floors with 4-5 steps to access other corridors and more rooms. This is not good for people with reduced mobility. Next time I would contact directly the front office before booking to make sure I get a room that does not have access stairs. Another (smaller) issue is that one of the rooms was facing the next door building so the window was facing a wall. Staff was super friendly and helpful so just be sure to address these issues with them before booking.

The people working at reception are extremely friendly and the location couldn't be better.

it was in the basement with no windows. there were none of the basics like a kettle and basic tea and coffee that you expect. Thought it was very expensive.

Walls were dirty mould in bathroom. We were in basement felt like a prison cell my partner said as no windows. Said had tea coffee and fridge in rooms and it didn't you had to go to reception for a drink.

Best location, not too far from Amsterdam Central Station. Right in the city center, very convenient to walk to nearby attractions. The bed is soft and clean. The room is not too small and enough fresh air to breathe because there are windows overlooking the main street from the 4th floor with a very nice view Although it doesn't serve breakfast, the bar has pretty good free tea and coffee. We have warm water to drink in the cold morning weather.

Not a deal breaker, but the pillows and mattress were very old and stained. Pillow protectors are needed. I would recommend a do not disturb sign for housekeeping to prevent them coming into the room when I don't require them. The hotel was great, though, and I would recommend it for a budget friendly Amsterdam trip! Thanks for having us. We will be back.

Absolutely loved the location, staff, comfortable room, shower was great and we had lots of privacy. Housekeeping cleaned the room every day, and the reception staff were very accommodating. Room decor was nice, nice lighting and very quiet a night for a good sleep. 100% I would stay again.

The mattresses were just too soft for me but that’s more of a personal preference but apart from that great.

Great location central but just enough out of way of bars so at night there wasn’t much noise. But also close enough everything was within a 5 minute walking distance. Would definitely stay again.
