Beautiful B&B but overpriced because of the shared bathrooms.

-we did not receive a room with garden view. We were on a street side and in front of the church. -for this price, a shared bathroom was below service. We paid €130 for 1 night. In the morning the bathroom was occupied by another room and when it was finally free, it was left behind dirty and with towels on the floor... -for this price I did not expect a shared bathroom, although I admit it was indicated on the website. If I would have seen it, I would not have booked this stay for this price. For a shared bathroom, the price was definitely to high.

-beautiful B&B -good breakfast: we really appreciated the fact that the breakfast lady gave us a bag to put in some left over sandwiches for take-away. -nice and cosy garden

Don’t ignore the bad reviews. They are extremely accurate! The owner is very lazy and provides nothing. I never saw her and neither did any of the other guests who were staying there before I arrived. Where to start…I booked for one night on a work trip. Looked beautiful in the photos and seemed to get good reviews. Upon arriving, it’s very picturesque, even if the garden has become overgrown. However, the host wasn’t present when I arrived. Not to worry, instructions were sent to me by message on how to let myself in and my key would be in the room door. When I got inside it seemed quite nice, I couldn’t find the fridge the host mentioned to grab a drink and though going into the kitchen would be intruding so thought that was strange. Then, the first alarm bell upon climbing the extremely steep stairs. They are not carpeted and extremely noisy! A theme that continues throughout the house. When I found my room, the key was attached to an enormous wooden key ring which every time I closed the door, clattered against it making more noise that could be heard throughout the house. Yet again, the theme. Noise, noise, noise. All the floors are bare wood and you can hear everything everybody in the other rooms is doing. I wasn’t really aware when booking that it was shared bathrooms. Maybe I could manage I thought but it wasn’t the main issue. The main issue is the noise generated by the other guests when they go to the toilet. Everything can be heard, again because nothing is carpeted. Everything is bare wood. Very frustrating if you need sleep as you are woken all the time by other guests - which of course isn’t their fault. The room inside was ok, a little bare but not bad. The blinds and curtains are very basic and minimal and keep little light out. There were cobwebs in the windows and the wardrobes so cleanliness isn’t great either. The bathrooms were reasonably clean but nobody was there to attend even if they weren’t. There are ZERO amenities.

The property could be amazing. If someone actually cared for it.

While booking I have asked for business invoice. On site the owner agreed to provide after my stay via email. I have been working with customer service now for > 1 month, to get a simple invoice for my stay and still not a single reply/explanation from the owner! I am utterly disappointed not only with this property but also with Booking.com. Bottom line, it is illegal, not to provide an invoice if the customer demands one! Meaning they could be avoiding paying tax! And Booking just turned a closed eye to this, without proper action to sort this legitimacy question with this property out.

The room was lovely and romantic, with a beautiful view of the blossoming magnolia tree and the church, we felt very welcome and comfortable. The house is magnificently restored with cozy details. Our hostess definitely has an eye for detail. We were served a copious, creative and wholesome Easter breakfast (that served us for lunch as well!) in the sunny and beautifully decorated common room. We definitely recommend this place to stay when visiting the Dutch great river lands and the blossoming spring. A good restaurant was recommended to us and just a few steps away. Parking was good.
