How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The cannibi smell outside of the hotel
The location was very good. Spar was just below open until midnight. Easy location on the Sloterdijk station. Can reach anywhere in Amsterdam from here.

Unfortunately, no wardrobe in room, therefore not recommended for long stay. Only standard double size bed, therefore a bit narrow.
Personal very helpful and nice. Good breakfast with good choice for any taste. All in all had a good stay.

The hotel room was clean but the carpet had seen better days. It was quite badly stained. The walls could have done with a coat of paint.
Convenient for the train. Station and extremely good restaurant adjacent to the hotel

Two small negatives: The free breakfast is hugely popular, and it gets a bit hectic. The housekeeping is very slow to make up rooms, with mine still not serviced by 14:30.
My room was large and comfortable, and the tempurature control was good. A large breakfast buffet is included, and the food was fine. Sloterdijk is a suburb with a frequent 5 or 6 minute (!) connection to Amsterdam Centraal, and a Tram line (#19) that runs direct to the Rijksmuseum; that was my main reason for staying here!

Keeping in mind this is an ‘Express’ hotel, be aware there was no fridge, no hair conditioner (only shampoo), no air con, no USB plugs, and one single PowerPoint on one side of the bed.
The location was excellent, a train stop between Schiphol airport and one stop to Amsterdam Centraal, with the bus and trams behind the hotel. Breakfast had a lot of hot and cold options. Very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Some of the rooms that are behind the hotel are a bit noisy because of the train lines that pass through and the windows do not block the sound.
This was my second stay at this location and I liked it because of the convniences. It has the train station next to the Hotel. The bus stop to Amsterdam central is located just behind the Hotel and the supermarket is on the ground floor in the same building. That's what makes the Hotel location ideal for my needs. The staff helped me move to another room at the front of the hotel which is more quieter because the room which was given was behind the hotel, so thanks to the staff for taking care of it. Really appreciate it

Someone set the smoke alarms off near midnight in the floor below us for smoking in the room, no fault of the staff but glad we didn’t have an early flight back!

A smoker set off the alarm at midnight so had to vacate. Carpet had some stains, shower was slow to drain.
Good location next to train and metro, grocery store on site, as well as 2 restaurants.

Room service didn't come until around 4pm when we were back from our day having a break so we opted not to have it and topped up our own supplies. Not serious for 3 nights but could have been a problem for a longer stay. There are only a couple of restaurants nearby and only one was open on two of the nights we were there. You need to get a train to the city if you want variety.
The included breakfast was great. The train station is right next door and is very easy to use.

Need to improve security. Woke up in Middle of the night rushing down to exit because of false fire alarm. They someone pulled the alarm on parking lot. Should have camera there. Also need to have telephone on each room its standard for €200.00 plus room per day.
