Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot super convenient to a tram stop and not super close to many restaurants.
The distance from the airport was great, only about 20 minutes. The room size was good for two people and the shower was really nice. The staff was very helpful with keeping our bags and making sure we felt comfortable.

IsraelThe room was basic, no amenities. There was a coffee machine but only decaf in my room and the hot chocolate sachet was stale. There is a so called breakfast room downstairs that has a coffee machine with bad coffee and 2 pastries to chose from. I cant compare with other Amsterdam hotels because I havent been in a while. Overall at the price that I paid i expected to get more. The internet was slow.
The location was good for what I needed although I had to walk a lot everywhere which was not a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful. The airconditioner in the room was good. There was hot water in the shower. The room was clean.

IrelandSome aspects of the room were a bit dated and could have done with more new towels on day two. They only very roughly remake bed - it's more of a tidy then clean of the rooms each day but we didn't have any issues.
Great location near Museumplein, staff were lovely and very helpful, comfortable room, tea/ coffee facilities, mini fridge, good shower, A/C. Location was quiet and hotel itself was quiet, no issues with noise. Complementary tea/ coffee and pastries available in the morning but no full breakfast option.

United KingdomNo problems at all.
Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. We were offered a quieter room when we arrived without having asked for it, which was appreciated. Stairs and lift to all floors. Complimentary coffee and pastries was a nice addition, especially as we weren't expecting breakfast to be provided. Location was quiet and right next to the Vogelspark.

the location was great - next to the park, very close to the museum zone, very close to the tram system. Not too central which was good for us. Staff really nice. Rooms absolutely fine big enough comfortable , good walk-in shower.

IrelandMore pillows might be a good move. Other than that, the hotel met our needs. I guess we probably could have asked for more pillows!
The location was perfect for our plans. The hotel offered excellent facilities and everyone was helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. We loved the croissants and coffee every morning, a nice bonus as we thought we were room only.

United KingdomThe coffee and tea in the room were a bit restricted, and there was no milk.
Located close to the museums, which we were looking for, and not far from a tram route, to access other sites. Our room, fourth floor, looked out to the park, so the hotel lived up to its name. Though the charge is for room only, in fact a light breakfast of croissants, coffee and juice is provided. Also a coffee and tea machine for use at any time.

FranceNothing comes to mind
This small but very comfortable hotel is located in a charming and quiet area on the edge of the more bustling parts of Amsterdam. It's just 10 minutes walk from the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum and a beautiful 30 minutes walk from Anne Frank's house and other attractions. Getting around on foot is highly recommended but there are also plenty of trams and buses; indeebd the main station is just 15 minutes away from the hotel by tram. The hotel reception are helpful, the whole hotel is clean and bright and the rooms are, well, roomy. There is a kettle for tea and coffee making as well as hot drinks on tap in the sub-ground "cafe". The hotel provide bicycles for those young enough to ride one safely but we just walked our little legs off. The excellent Seafood Restaurant is just around the corner and there are plenty of excellent rijsttaffel restaurants (but booking ahead is vital).

United StatesGreat location right next to the park on a very quiet and cozy street and only a 5 mins walk from Museumplein. United KingdomWhen checking in, I was informed by the hotel staff that the booking software had made an error and that my deluxe double would only be available for two nights and not three, so I would have to move to a single room for the last night. They said there was no other option and were very apologetic. They also reduced the price because of this. I wasn't happy about this room change- but what else could I do? The double room was nice, light, warm, a comfy chair to sit on but I wouldn't call it 'deluxe' by the way. Decent, but not deluxe. But, the bathroom was great, and the bed was comfortable. This room had a good size wardrobe and a fridge (no instructions for the safe, so I didn't use it). On the third night, I went to the single room, which was located above the front entrance, very small, cramped and cold as it was in shadow from the door portico. I did switch on the radiator which helped, but didn't enjoy the space at all and the mattress was not as firm. I could not have stayed there another night. Bathroom/shower okay.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The hotel location, in a quiet street next to VondelPark is superb! The mattress (deluxe room) was very good, however I spent one night in a single room and this wasn't as comfortable. Access to tea and coffee all day in the downstairs room, plus fresh croissants and juice in the mornings. The park next door was beautiful. I could see the park from the window of my first room. Some very nice eating places nearby and perfect for the airport bus.
