Sometimes an extra step would have made it perfect. Some examples, the kiosk underneath the beach club was closed, the beachclub itself had no towels. We had to walk to the hotel. An empty minibar in a premium room, a 7,5 euro delivery fee for room service. Its all minor stuff, but still.

The atmosphere of the hotel is vintage but with modern rooms and facilities. We also liked the room a lot, very comfortable and new. We also liked the breakfast, a lot of options with eggs, fruit, and other things.

The price of all extra's like parking deck, breakfast, rent of sunbeds is rather high. We know places beautiful Grand Hotels at the coast of France where f.I. the sunbeds are free for the hotelguests. It's all quite money driven.

The location is superbe and the renovated room in the Historic part was nice; We loved the celebration party in restaurant BREAKERS BEACH. Excellent venue, lovey staff and great food.

The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, just just very dated.

The hotel’s location is incredible. Waking up to a sea view is worth the cost but thé property, especially the rooms, all need a revamp. The rooms are quite old fashioned and non glam compared to the hotel reception area. The onsite and beach restaurants are all great. Good food and the prices reflect that. Would definitely stay again.

Old and used-looking bath in the room. Swimming pool is a let down. Some staff are talking with superiority to guests. No iron in the room - only ironing service which costs extra.

Breakfasts in the room as picnic baskets. Smoking allowed on the balconies. Hotel restaurants. Some staff really nice and friendly. View from the room.

The room we were first allocated was on a floor undergoing reconstruction and we had to make a complaint. We also had issues with both restaurants . Brasserie la terrace was pretentious and over priced and there were long delays.The Breakers was extremely noisy and we did not enjoy the experience at all.

Positives were helpful staff eg breakfast and bar areas. We enjoyed the flower parade and little town. Our room overlooked the beach, which is long and sandy. Unfortunately the weather was very windy and wet.

The hotel is a prime example of a white elephant. I giant concrete, endless building with a huge parking lot right on the wild beach. Very bizarre atmosphere off season, feels likes a Las Vegas casino after the apocalypse. An empty minibar and a weird room service system was not very hospitable... I understand being environmentally firendly, but then better not to have disposable toiletries with Palm Oil rather than not having cold drinks and a pack of chips. Lame excuse. Pillows were terrible and generally felt like room was way overpriced for what it is. Generally I felt my stay was unremarkable and was happy to leave.

Beautiful view on the ocean/beach. Very clean overall, pretty well maintained. Hotel definitely has a vibe, albeit not really my thing... Fast room service for breakfast (though poor quality)

Nothing. It is expensive but I didn’t eat meals there which saved money.

The hotel was just beautiful, amazing ocean view from room, super comfortable bed and very quiet. It was very luxurious and shout out to all the staff who were very nice and helpful. Highlight was last night there was a Nobility Ball which was fun to watch everyone dressed very formally with trumpet and drum fanfare as everyone entered. Renting an electric bike was a highlight too and cycling the dunes and to other towns.

for many years a favourite - but n9w: room design was outdated and furniture was ‚well used‘. staff not very helpful and seemed too busy with other things to help us with luggage and other queries we had. We all felt this is no longer a five star hotel- service and decor is more like 3star! very disappointing stay!

"Historic" means - not been renovated or upgraded since the 70/80's. The rooms are just terribly old, worn off, full of stains, horrible isolation, gaps everywhere - just not worth the money. I got a room on the first floor with lousy to no WiFi reception und right above the terrace of the restaurant. Noise until late night. Even worth: The reception jokes about the wording "historic" - being a synonym for old and worn off. It was a complete rip off in my eyes - charging for a five Star Hotel but providing a hostel standard. Never again!

Great location

The room (upgraded ocean view) had one small light. At 10:30 after returning from dinner we called the front desk who sent up two lights one of which was broken. We went downstairs at 8am for breakfast and since we had not ordered it with our reservation they could not accommodate us!
