I didn’t enjoy the windowless dorm room, and I also didn’t notice any ventilation in the room and it felt stuffy. The man in the reception was not very service minded when I checked in. He seemed like he just wanted to get out of there. The kitchenette was really sad, and I don’t see the point of having it there since there were no bowls, no cups and no glasses. Only a few flat plates and some utensils. The fridge was tiny for such a big hostel, and otherwise just a microwave and a kettle. I was really disappointed.

The hotel room we booked come with towel and earplugs. We should get the hint when we saw this. I guess it depends on who stay in the hotel/hostel at the same time. We had a large group of teenage at the time of stay. They were still up until almost mid night and someone calling at another person's door at 05:30. Not appreciated behaviour like this at all.

The hotel/hostel is right in the middle of the town, only 5 mins walk to Weight house. Only a block away from "The Karperton" Parking lot, which the rate was not expensive for overnight stay.

Our room was next to the coffee corner. This will give some noise when busy. Breakfast is ok but not worth 15 euros.

The rooms are located around the common area, which is not a problem when guests respect silence after 10pm. A little noise at night, because not everyone has this common sense sometimes, but nothing that bothered me too much.

I am very satisfied with my stay, the hostel is very well located, close to the bus stop, the central square and several good cafes and restaurants. The bathroom and shower are inside the room. The reception and service staff are extremely kind and helpful. I was late arriving and checking in, but it was resolved without any problems. I checked out before breakfast and they prepared me a kit to take on the trip. I will definitely stay again, I had nice days in Alkmaar.

Being a hostel, it is easy to hear people from the other rooms. however, the hear plug offer by the hostel helps.

The rooms were really tiny and the walls are really thin but still there are some earpads are available in the rooms so somehow you can figure it out.

Friendly staff and check-in was very easy and quick. Attention to detail- earplugs were provided, which was helpful since the rooms all come off a central hall. I did not hear noise of other guests the day we were there, but I can imagine that you could get unlucky!

The sound insulation of the room was quite poor, I could easily hear the conversation of the guest next door.

No windows in the rooms (already mentioned in the description). I dont know if i got unlucky, i stayed for a night and it was very noisy, there was an event going on at the restaurant of the hostel and some kids were playing right outside of the rooms in the common area, being very loud and running up and down the hall. Also there are no plugs in the common area.

The location was great, right in the middle of the city center and close to Alkmaar train station. The stuff was quite friendly and the bed comfortable.

Stairs design would be a problem if you had mobility problems

Staying in the double rooms we were more than happy with our 2 night stay. Excellent breakfast included in the price. Spacious communal space. Location to a great number of restaurants and bars.

After few days I started feeling the iron bars below the matras. And you need a bit of good luck with the roommates so that it does not smell like drugs/weed in the room.

Beds in the dorms are of good length, I am 1.90m and easily fit, so great. Nice relaxing communal area and great restaurant as part of the property. Right in the centre of Alkmaar and of short walking distance of many fun bars

Confusion before the stay through messages re parking. Car parking prices make this a less cheap option.

The only thing distracting was the light from the corridor.

I liked the cleanless, the location, and the layout of the hostel. Our bed and pillow were very, very comfortable . The staff members were very helpful and informative. I liked the vibe of the whole place. We did not choose breakfast because plenty of coffee shops are around with quality breakfast I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to get great value for decent money.
