How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was cold upon arrival. Might be nice to turn on the heating in the room before the guests arrive (mid December). Otherwise everything was good!
Nice spacious room. Pretty (classic) hotel. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fine. Easy to reach from highway and easy parking. Very nice area to hike/bike if you have time.

Wifi signal level was very poor in the room I stayed this time, but in other rooms I've stayed in the past it was better. It was also a bit off-putting to push blame for checking out early morning to the customer - if you have reception open hours ask or inform when customers check-in.
Generally good value for money. Perfect location for a quiet stay close to pleasant neighbouring towns.

The hotel is adjacent to a road, but at night it is quiet enough.
We had a 3-course lunch, Every course was delightfully presented and tastefully prepared. Little "amuse-bouches" complemented the experience. In summary: we found the cuisine fantastic!

Breakfast was not something special so the (approx) 80€ we paid for the four of us was too much. On top of that, flies were flying around exposed breakfast ingredients. Additionally they asked us to declare exact time that we would have breakfast (not even a 30 minutes slot) which I found wired. The hotel is located in a rural area and when we arrived there to check-in the windows of the room were open, without having an insect mesh, so my family suffered all night from mosquitos. Last, for two 750ml bottles refilled tap water we had to pay 10 euros, which I found insanely excessive for tap water. There is room to improve cleanliness.
We stayed there only for a few hours. Just an overnight stay. Room was really spacious for a family of 4. Big bathroom with a double sink. Good landscape and free parking.

The restaurant was overpriced and the food was underwhelming. Sevice was poor. No atmosphere in the bar.

Staff could be friendlier and more considerate. When we arrived one of us was assigned a tiny room for an "out of proportion price". We had to asked for a suitable room which we got for an extra payment of merely 10 euro/night!?! We planned to have dinner on our arrival in the restaurant on Sunday but they called us later on to tell us that the restaurant will be closed. We were looking forward to it and had to go out to find another place for dinner.

I got the impression I was treated by the way I looked. Tired after a long journey (all day in car 1200km drive) dressed in lets say comfortable close not dressed up like the other guests in suits and dresses and had to wait much longer despite being first in line and had to pay first in order to go to my room and leave the luggage and pay as in every hotel I've been around the world - when I left the hotel after the stay. All in all the stay was nice and we even managed to get a room for a day longer when it turned out we had to stay longer in Holland and a huge plus for accepting the dog (price for the dogs was 20 euro per night).
I loved the location and the rooms. They were spacey and very well equiped. The surrounding of the hotel was amazing.

The heating system was turning on and off at night - which is not 100% comfortable. The room was facing the road so one could hear the noise a bit

There could have been a few more coffee pods for the coffee machine.
The staff were very pleasant and polite and spoke excellent English. The evening meal was very good and definitely haute cuisine. A group of 8 in the dining room had a mixture of meals and they also enjoyed their food.
