I always stay at the NH when we have a few days between our traveling schedules in Amsterdam. The rooms are spacious, the price is good, the breakfast is very good and most of all i enjoy the infrared sauna and the jacuzzi. When traveling for work it really helps to be able to relax your body. The hours of the spa are till late, which is really accommodating to guests. The shuttle service from and to the airport is also great and always on time.

The airport shuttle service is convenient and easy to use. It's almost like being at the airport but with less aircraft noise. We slept one night in very windy weather and, despite the noise outside, it was well insulated inside and not annoying.

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the pools. Although we were so looking forward to using the spa, the temperature of the pool was uncomfortably low and definitely impacted our visit because we couldn't use it half as much as we would have liked to. The freshness of the salad and pastry items at breakfast needs some work. The avocado wasn't fresh, and some pastries were hard. This was disappointing. Although it was a nice spread, the flavours were pretty bland overall.

The best things about this hotel are the shuttle bus service and the steam room. The breakfast restaurant & spread were cute. Loved the selection of jams, juices, and tea as well as the fresh mint leaves, ginger, or lemon slices. Mint & lemon water in the reception area was a nice touch.

Room cleanliness could improve. The armchair in the bedroom had literal dust collection so it was immediately off-putting. I used the kettle which was not used only for water, and the bathroom had some minor issues as well, mind the shower floor as it is slippery! One of the shuttle drivers drove extremely fast, carrying a child on my lap this was dangerous. Warm breakfast could improve a bit.

The location to the airport and the shuttle service, which was every half an hour from 5 am to midnight and every hour from midnight to 5 am. Staff friendliness, from the front desk to the restaurant to the chefs. The soaps and gels in the bathrooms were great and smelled delicious.

- no assistance on baggage and concerns. - no enough drinking water bottles for 3 people. - advised guests to drink unfiltered tape water as because all local residents drinks tape water in NL. But they filter the water before drinking. The said tape is in the toilet and the same water header goes for latrine flash as well. The separation is just a valve.. bacteria can easily travel any where. - if tape water to be drunk, the water must have separate filtering arrangement to drink. Last year in NL the tape water supplied was infected by bacterial and it was stopped to drink for quite a few days. Sorry, it is a very basic for a 4 or 5 star hotels (or any) to consider.

Affordable, comfortable stay close to Amsterdam Airport

It has always been my preferred hotel during my travels to Amsterdam, but on my water trip the hotel staff surprised me. When we wanted to check in to the room 1 hour before, they asked for a fee of 30 euros. As for the shortcomings, the hair dryer was faulty, there was no ear cleaning stick, and there was no water for refreshments in the room.

The biggest advantage of the hotel is that it has an airport shuttle.

I couldn't arrange the shuttle for our arrival - I was told to get to the pickup point at the airport and see the hours. The hours are fixed in advance - which the hotel could let us know so we can plan accordingly. in any case, when we arrived we saw that we needed to wait 25 min. for the next shuttle - so we took a taxi. To get to the city is not comfortable either: You need to take the shuttle (once in an hour or half an hour) or taxi to the airport and then the train to Amsterdam Central. Or a taxi from the hotel to the city - which is very expensive.

Shuttle to airport. Both stays we were not informed to reserve a spot on airport shuttle. Rather nerve wracking if you have to catch a flight. Drivers were irritated when guest couldn't hand over a ticket/voucher. Clearly shuttle process is not working

Our room keys were never working, we were sent back and forth to try out again and again after what we had to be accompanied by the staff with a super key to open us our room all the time. It was also quite cold insight the hotel.

Pet friendly but pet not allowed in restaurant/breakfast area. Staff kindly offered to keep our dog while we were having breakfast, though.

The room was very warm even on the highest cold AC setting, but staff were very fast to help and gave us a fan which helped a bit.

The room was spacious with nice lighting. There was an option to order amenities to your room, for example: a comb, vanity kit, slippers, shaving kit, toothbrush sets - we were very impressed with the extensive list and it was extremely helpful! The free shuttle service to/from airport was amazing.

Super close to airport, great free shuttle service. Has nice restaurant. The room was very quiet, you would not know you are basically under the flight path for the airport.
