It’s truly a fantastic & beautiful experience to stay here. From the moment you check-in until you leave again. The food is delicious and you actually have a full pension formula, you can pack your lunch during breakfast. The delightful staff complete this.

Well like everything in Norway, the cost of the stay and the dinner was expensive (but the quality is exceptionally high)!

We stayed here after a long day climbing in Jotunheimen NP, which is only about a 30-minute drive away. This unique hotel comprises a complex of beautiful, historic buildings within a stunning mountainous setting. You can see that a lot of effort has gone into the preservation of its history including maintaining original furnishings, the art and decor, and the historic items used there. We stayed in a restored schoolroom - it was cosy, clean and comfortable. We also really enjoyed bathing in a wooden tub! The toiletries were plentiful and lovely. We paid extra for the dinner and it was absolutely divine - fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. (They also kindly accommodated my pescetarian dietary preferences!). The breakfast was also plentiful, diverse and delicious - many of the breakfast items were handmade (including the pastries and jams!), which is so rare these days. After breakfast, you were encouraged to make sandwiches to take for your lunch which was very kind. The staff were very friendly and hospitable.

We loved our cabin and staying in this historic hotel. It was really cool to bathe in a wooden tub, however that may be hard for people with limited mobility. The breakfast was SO good and you could pack extra for your hikes in the area for lunch. We also paid for dinner there and the food was exceptional! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall we highly recommend and would stay here again!

Lovely property with interesting history! our restored horse stall room was exceptionally clean and interesting in all the right ways. The main building was charming and comfortable.

The breakfast was good but didn’t have a very wide range of options. For example, there were no “basics” like scrambled eggs or pancakes/waffles. Dinner was expensive and while the food was great, we were charged extra for nonalcoholic drinks like hot chocolate, which we felt should have been included given how expensive the room and dinner was.

The property was beautiful and had lots of history. The staff was very friendly and the dinner was delicious. We loved the wine barrel tub in the bathroom.

Our rooms were very cold when we arrived - no heat. They warmed quickly once we figured out how to run the warmers. It is a pricy stay, but we understand why. A "special".

The breakfast was amazing at Roisheim, and had us all set to climb in Jotunheimen NP! Great staff/hostesses! We also had dinner, which was delicious for the vegetarians, not so the "deer". Rooms are small and quaint, but this is a great, authentic restoration.
