Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beds were a bit creaky and the entrance to the car park wasn't obvious (you enter from the back of the building).
The hotel is basic but very reasonably priced and well located on the edge of the centre of Stavanger. We came in on a late flight arriving after midnight, so wanted somewhere affordable to stay with 24 hour check-in desk where we were close enough to the city so that it would be easy to access it the next day. The receptionist was helpful. The hotel was a good fit. This hotel is part of the hospital and is used to accommodate families of patients, which makes staying there and eating breakfast the next day a more interesting experience than having breakfast alongside other tourists.

BulgariaThis hotel is basically in the hospital. You might see doctors and patients outside. I don’t find it as a negative, but it is good to know.
For the price you get a big nice room. There is a big shopping mall nearby. Within 10 minutes by foot. Was able also to catch the early bus to the ferry. Good selection of food and snacks inside.

AustraliaWe didn't realise it was a hospital hotel - this was not mentioned during the booking process and definitely should be for individual health reasons, didn't affect us but may do so for immunocompromised travellers etc

SpainBooking.com isn´t clear enough about the type of hotel this is, intended for family members of hospitalized patients. We knew the hotel was next to a hospital, but not that it was attached to it and shared the same entrance. (Basic) breakfast is shared with patients and their families. Not what you´re looking for when on hollidays. It´s a half an hour walk to the centre.
The room is big enough, comfortable and clean. And quiet.

Czech RepublicHotel itself is very good. However we don´t have hospital hotels in our country, so it was new experience for us. The "hospital smell" is little unpleasant. However it is our mistake that we didn´t know what hospital hotel is:).
Location, staff, rooms, wifi - all was very good.

United KingdomThe mattress is quite soft, I prefer a firmer and harder mattress . The toilet has some little musty smell if not ventilated for awhile.
The staff in reception are extremely helpful and nice The price is much cheaper than those in city center, but it's only like 5min bus away, and the bus cost you 42kr per trip only. There is a grocery shop / mini restaurant in the ground floor and there is a medium sized grocery shop just 5min. Walk away, which is still convenient You can borrow a hairdryer and kettle from reception, they have a few over there.

AustraliaWould be good if there was a mini fridge in the room. There seemed to be a spot for one that may have been there but they don't have them anymore. A discount for parking there at the hospital would be good as a guest of the hotel as it's expensive (In my opinion). Bed was uncomfortable, was basically a mattress topper.
The location was good, just outside of the city centre. There is a mini supermarket type of thing in the lobby which was really good to have around for snacks, sandwiches and drinks etc. The staff were pretty helpful especially since I had a lot of questions. They do a takeaway breakfast pack which was quite generous for the price. The restaurant there offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. All as buffet, and also has a few items on a menu to order from for lunch and dinner. I'd suggest that over the buffet, depending on what's there on the day. You can check beforehand so I'd do that first. Breakfast buffet is standard but enough.

BulgariaThe showerhead was not working properly, the sliding rod it was attached on spun freely meaning you could barely stabilize the head while showering as it would move around, which was annoying. The hot water was also not always hot but alternated between hot and cold every few seconds for whatever reason. The windows of the room couldn't be fully opened. Out of the two windows it had, one couldn't be opened at all, and the other could be opened only from the top. The hotel being attached to a hospital also means it's quite noisy and you could be woken up during the night by ambulances and helicopters frequently. Also there was no fridge in the room.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was spotless and also quite spacious, both presumably to accommodate people with movement disabilities considering the hotel is attached to a hospital.

LatviaHard understand where to enter hotel, because it is also hospital entrance. If we knew before that it is part of hospital building- would not order. Cost for breakfast was too expensive (15eur), it was not so good. We eat together with hospital patients.

UkraineThe sanitary smell like at the hospital (this is the hotel actually near by the legevakte, so visitors of the patients may stay there. The parking takes extra payment (around 185 krn). If you book from booking you may take an option without a breakfast, but if you book right at the hotel you will be suggested by the option with the breakfast only.
