Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandParking at $16/day wasn't very convenient, especially in the rain as parking was some distance from the hotel. Room was a bit tired (lifting wallpaper etc) and sofa and armchair were very low to the ground so not very comfy for lounging in the evening.
Very friendly staff and great location. View was exceptional! I'd explained it was our wedding anniversary when I booked so was pleasantly surprised to see a complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate and lovely note, plus 2 complimentary drinks vouchers that were handed to us on checking in. Very thoughtful!

United KingdomQuite far outside of Queenstown. Initially we had thought we would be able to get the water taxi easily into the centre however it runs very infrequently and is $14pp each way. We ended up taxing into town each time which was around $30-40 one way.
Great views of the lake

New ZealandCleanliness was a bit disappointing, Flys on windowsill and room really dusty. Suggest that you check the rooms before you hire out. Also need to sort parking and have staff that can explain it better. English was first language I think and a bit hard to understand.
Dinner at Stack bar , view room and bed were great.

AustraliaThe location is a bit ‘out of town’ - a car is needed. This also means that if you want to eat away from the hotel restaurants you need transport ($$$ - $70NZ return for Uber) & contend with the QT traffic.
The lakeside residence was large enough for family of 5. Beautiful outlook straight onto lake. Peaceful and quiet. Good facilities (pool, sauna, in-house restaurants, access to bikes).

United StatesThe service at restaurant needs improvement as they don't come outside to patio and you have to order at the inside bar. No ability to order a takeaway lunch for daily tours...made a PB& J sandwich at breakfast bar. The hotel interior needs updating as looks like a 1980s convention hotel. Furniture needs reupholstery.

AustraliaWe got an apartment that has only part of the lake view. Would be better to get one with full lake view. Realised little milk capsules in the mini bar were all expired after mum found wired test in one. Report to the management and we were offered a complementary breakfast. Manager was keen to help and excellent/efficient in resolving issues.
Friendly reception staff. Smooth check-in and check-out. Easy and cheap self-parking available just across the road of our apartment (park at double tree @ NZD 16/per day). Good size apartment with full facility including laundry. Love the view and environment around the hotel. Excellent spots to take photos when you walk along the lake side. Swimming facility is good, they also have a small gym available. Good complementary breakfast, you can enjoy the lake view when you have your breakfast.

AustraliaThe hotel is quite distant from the town centre although there are shops nearby. However, given that the property is situated on the side of the mountain, nothing is really walking distance. The driveway into the hotel is small and I noticed this caused some issues when catching rides (minor). Biggest let down is the food options. The entire hotel has a single restaurant and bar with very limited options. The restaurant gets filled quickly which means you need to book in advance. This happened to us and we booked for the next night, which wasn't too busy, but the food took very long to arrive. Taste was very nice. The bar menu is offered as an alternative but it is also limited and quite similarly priced to the restaurant (expensive). The room service food is offered only from the bar menu. Morning breakfast is buffet style but not the best quality compared to other hotels I've stayed at. It's fair for the price. Given that the hotel isn't very close to anything else, you tend to eat at the hotel and for a property this size, it should really have another restaurant or some other food options (the residences next door does have a pizza bar, but it is open weird hours).
It's a beautiful hotel with scenic views of the mountains. Very comfortable and spacious room, beautiful bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful. The amenities such as the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room are lovely. You can easily catch a water taxi into Queenstown town as the hotel has its own stop which is very useful. Room air-conditioning is also very good. Kept the room cool. There's also a gas fireplace which is a nice addition for the cold nights (although didn't seem too powerful which is reasonable for a hotel). Our room also had a little patio out to the main courtyard which overlooked the mountains which was very nice to sit in. The wifi is very good. There's lots of coverage and it is fast. Overall the place does feel luxurious.
