How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was very adequate, the room was clean, had a full kitchen, dishwasher etc. Nothing spectacular, however for the price it was perfect. I wasn't expecting alot, but was very happy with what we received.

The ammenities are great including having a washer-dryer however I couldn't find instructions on how to use it. A guide would be nice as I found it a little confusing. We had our towels swapped out regularly but not the bathmat. It would also be good to have a couple of other items for longstays such as dishwashing liquid and cloths (we rarely used enough dishes to run the dishwasher), having the clothes horse in the room (we requested it and it was immediately provided but it would have been a pain if we had already started washing clothes), tissues and maybe some longlife milk pods would be nice too. None of this took away from my stay but it would have enhanced it! I also found that the bedroom would become really during the day but there were no vents or fans in there.
We had a kerfuffle with our flights and they were very accomodating, offering a very late check in. The rooms are nice with balcony views, plenty of space and good ammenities. We were able to store our bags on our last day while we waited for our flights. It's a small walk into the CBD, noting that a lot of Auckland is on an incline so be ready for that! The staff offered to help us with drying our laundry and regularly swapped out our towels and bin.

They ransacked my room while we weren't there. Don't think ill ever come back. Also didn't trust the staff and felt the need to block my door while we slept just incase they came in while i was sleeping. Not happy with the staff at all. Also the blanket we had was thin as and bed was so cold so i had to leave the air-con on all night to keep warm.

Instructions on how to use a dishwasher and appliances for this technically challenged person on a card at each station might have been helpful.
Got given a free upgrade (unexprected) when the original room didn't have a functioning safety deposit box. Lovely reception girl. She was helpful when I asked about liquid milk she gave me some little containers. Nothing was a problem to my queries.

Building, facilities and room were out dated. For the money spent I would have expected a better finis. Which it would have been 10 years ago but needs a revamp.

At checkout they asked for the confirmation code and used it to leave a fake review. There is no need to do this and why I have downgraded the rating.
Enjoyed our stay here, we were upgraded to a 2 bed apartment. Nice and spacious. Friendly staff.

Car park was near impossible to get in to and the price was a bit steep for what you pay in accommodation. Rooms were quite small and dated. And the area there was nothing without walking a distance great for highway travel but probably would book somewhere more central next time. Great place for a in and out stay but for a couple of nights i probably wouldn't again. But the staff were just beautiful and amazing

Booking.com had the wrong address so when we arranged to be dropped off we were a block away. The basin in the bathroom got blocked soon after we arrived and they couldn't sort it while we were there.
Good view and close to our concert venue. Room was quite warm when we walked in on the hot day. Loved the idea of a mini dishwasher and the abilities to wash/dry clothes with a washer in our room. Comfortable bed.
