The property is very authentic and is a lovely place to stay in Auckland. The owner is lovely and very helpful. This was my last stop on my holiday in New Zealand. The Ponsonby Manor is well located with lots and lots of very nice eateries very close by, central Auckland is a steady 35 minute walk to the Sky Tower but is a little hilly……All in all, a lovely place to stay in my opinion.

The mini fridge in my room would wake me. I recommend ear plugs next time.

There was a well-equipped communal kitchen with great facilities, but not so conducive to self-catering. The laundry facilities were't obvious - and the only place to iron clothes, needed after much travel, was on a table against the wall, only suitable for bedding. We'd specifically asked for separate beds, got there late to find that our room was open, as discussed, but only a king sized bed - and I'd re-iterated the request 4 hours before arriving, when phoning to confirm arrangements for entry to the property after 7pm - so the housekeeper had to be contacted to separate and remake the beds.

The property was a quirky place to stay, with a nice feel to it and a quiet garden to enjoy, with a table and chairs outside our room on a shared deck/verandah. Lots of interesting resaurants and shop in the area, which we really enjoyed. The staff were helpful and friendly although things weren't always as expected.

Lovely room in a beautiful old home. Great communal kitchen. Dragging your heavy suitcase up the stairs is a challenge if you have physical limitations which we did.

We had a bit of difficulty accessing the building but were helped out by a fellow guest. We had received a message but my phone had run out of battery so I didn’t receive it.

We did not see many staff around, so it may be difficult to find someone if there were any issues.

Very comfortable and spacious rooms with nice high ceilings. Good location in an interesting part of Auckland. Street parking was easy to find and not too expensive, and we were close to the centre of town (a short drive and a slightly longer walk).

Lack of staff available. However the maid who I saw on the previous trip was very good and hard working. I saw no staff during this trip. My stored bag was left in my room which was good but not secure and it was trial and error I found it.

Details about parking could have been provided ahead of time - it worked well for us as we were there on the weekend, but parking is on the street, and during the week is around the block for untimed spots. Also no screens on the windows meant the room had mosquitoes inside.
