How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Our room wasn't ready on check in so had to wait. We arrived after the check in time, so that wasn't good.
The location is perfect, you walk out of the door right into the heart of Lambton Quay and the shops. The bus stop is outside the entrance to the apartments. The waterfront is very close and you can walk everywhere or take the bus, Wellington has a great bus transport system. A very quiet room considering buses are constantly going along the road outside.

The location, many bus stops on the same street, great shops, and it was a nice walking distance to Te Papa and park for my child.

It was a little noisy at night with the street cleaning ect but liveable.

This was an absolute perfect stay. So easy to get around without a car. Very close to all the main shopping and attractions. Lovely rooms and very clean. Staff were absolutely friendly. Can not fault a thing. We will be back.

The staff were top notch! The room felt very modern, it had a good kitchen, washer/dryer, cosy dining area, good tvs. The bed was very comfortable. The cleanliness was also top notch. The parking was reserved and arranged ahead of time (paid) and we had no problems with it! Though it is not in the same building so beware of that. The location was excellent! Not only it was super easy to drive from the ferry and also to leave from hotel traveling north but it is also in the bustling city part with plenty of shops and restaurants! The cable car is next door! Botanical garden is within walking distance as well.

I stayed at this property twice and the second time I stayed on a lower floor and found it a lot noisier especially as I was near the lift.
The room was very spacious with great facilities including a washer/dryer. The location is brilliant right beside a bus stop

The Hotel was a little hard to find because reception is not on the ground level, so our taxi driver took us to the other Quest hotel further down the road.
Hotel was in a fantastic location! Super location and was in walking distance to many attractions and shopping. Rooms are well appointed with everything you could need. We were pleasantly surprised when we found we found we had a washer/dryer in the room. The rooms are quiet, and we didn't hear any banging doors or road noise. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful with information on where to dine.

Nothing really - the bed was maybe a little hard but otherwise very impressed and will be back next time I am visiting WLG for work.
Clean facilities. Staff were very courteous and provided clear instructions to me when a little stressed about where to park to unload bags and then how to get to carpark facility around the corner.

The microwave is so advanced and couldn’t figure out how to set time. Lol.. but it’s excellent.
The location is perfect for shopping and dining around CBD. And parking place is very convenient.

The washer dryer cycle was difficult to interrupt and open door (had to leave). Thank God for google!
Did not expect to be so central in town. Easy walking distance to lots of sights, restaurants, shops, etc. Managed to walk from train station as well - not so bad, a good stretch after 6 hours on train. Excellent coffee pod machine.

There was a rather vocal woman in a nearby room enjoying herself with her partner which made for some laughs but made it harder to sleep on the second night.
The location couldn't have been more perfect. The bus travels to and from the airport to right outside the hotel and from there everything was an easy walk, including the museum, cable car, botanic gardens, theatre, and waterfront. The room was extremely clean and well-proportioned with all the amenities needed (and more). There were loads of great shops and two supermarkets to choose from. Would definitely recommend and happily stay again.

Great location and was easy to get around the hotel. Was exactly what you would expect for a hotel. Really liked that the body wash, shampoo and conditioner were in dispensers in the shower as meant there was always enough

None that I can think of.
The room was spacious, clean, very accessible to all the shops and airport bus. The receptionists were so friendly and accommodating. They deserve a pay rise :) I have been to a lot of high end hotels/apartments but this one exceeded my expectations. The coffee machine in the reception is quite good too.
