How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location was great for going around Wellington. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which suited our needs. Comfortable stay withing walking distance of the main bus stand and ferry terminals.

Parking wasn’t onsite, but across the road.
We loved the convenient location and value for money. The staff were nice and the cleaners always did a great job with housekeeping. It was a great base for exploring Wellington!

Nothing we didn’t like
Near the station, and near the shops… So it’s an ideal place for visitors. Everything you could possibly need to cook a meal, wash and dry your clothes if you needed to, take a shower and have a quiet night rest. Excellent in every respect.

Unfortunately there were some overnight road repairs happening during our stay, but that was only a minor inconvenience
Really lovely apartment with comfortable bedrooms and a large living room/kitchenette area. Easy walking distance to Wellington city centre. Ferry terminals and train station also nearby. Included free parking (across the road from the hotel). Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Map of Wellington and other tourist information available in the lobby.

Hard to find/access due to construction in the area but that isn’t the properties fault. Only complain is lack of counter space in the bathroom. No place to put toiletries except on the back of the toilet or washing machine.
Very comfortable. Spacious room. Loved having a washer/dryer in the room as well as the kitchenette.

The room is well equipped. While not in the centre of Wellington it does not take long to get there. Good internet connectivity.

Super close to Wellington downtown. Was to get to from Picton Ferry terminal. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed, very clean and comfortable. Way too big for us. We only stayed one night but enjoyed our time. We had no parking offered by the hotel but used the public parking garage just 50meters away.

There was no place to park to unload since there was construction. The carpet in the room was a little tired...
The location was great to get to the train station! The rooms have a washer/dryer unit which is a plus, plus a small kitchen area. The cookies were a nice touch!

I chose it for easy access for Wellington station (it’s a few minutes round the corner) but it’s an easy walk into the CBD/quayside as well for sightseeing. Apartment was sparkling clean, really well appointed and staff very helpful. Bed was really comfortable too! Would definitely stay again and will look at other Quest hotels when travelling in future.

Long term roadworks outside but didn’t disturb us. Parking is over the road in front of shops safe but not what expected. In apartment bedroom there is little storage which is a challenge if staying more than one night. These are only small niggles!
The apartment was spacious very well equipped including washer/Dryer. Location meant easy to walk around city. No restaurants or bar in immediately vicinity but only 5 mins stroll away on waterfront
