There was absolutely nothing we didn’t like about this place

There were lots of things we liked about this property, we arrived at around 6:00pm out of hours! We had been up graded :) the room was warm as the lodge manager had popped down to put the heat pump on :) furnishings modern, bed linen crisp n clean, big stock of tea,coffee, sugar n milk with complimentary biscuits, the little touches that made it warm comfortable & inviting. Big ups to management & staff this place is a real wee gem by the river, will definitely be back to stay

I loved it, so handy to stop here on my way both sth & nth especially with my dog, fantastic. All the staff were so friendly, food delicious. Restaurant & bar so handy didn't have to drive anywhere after a great day out

It was great, nothing that we didn't like about it!

Arrived to find the heat pump on, chocolates waiting, kitchen clean with extra hot choc, coffee & tea, towels and flannels for every guest!

Rooms have recently been upgraded. Great colours on wall. Lovely new carpet. New heat pumps in the room. Nice new induction stove top. Easy keyless access.

parking was a bit tight but not really an issue.

the motel is set in a very pretty location opposite to the river, it was quiet and warm and comfortable. I did not miss my own bed which is always an issue when i am away from home

It was clean one bedroom but it was claustrophobic. The bedroom was small but had a queen and a single, and the lounge had a single bed. The bathroom was also tiny. The lady running it was lovely but not onsite all the time. Entry is by code and the door plays up sometimes.

Cant move shower head, needs an update.

Bed was comfy, tv was nice and big, black out curtains.

Parking was poor as they were full.but it is a small carpark . Had to park on roadside not happy about with pets on board. ..Payment taken out of my account 4 days before i had even stayed ? Didnt see any staff at all

I paid for a family room with 3 beds and was given a standard room with 2 beds, causing a huge inconvenience. After checking in to quickly shower and change for an important family event, I had to pack up all my luggage and belongings and then had trouble trying to contact the motel to fix the problem while simultaneously having to run the event I was attended. I was told I was given the standard room because there were only two of us staying, even though I had actually paid more for the family room in case my kids turned up. I found this highly unprofessional and it caused a lot of unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I’d warn people before staying here

Location was great, close to family, rooms was very cozy and clean.

In a quiet area. Staff very friendly and made you feel at home. Location was by a river. Nice to hear the wind run through the trees.

a pretty basic unit that was comfortable and equiped with everything you might need only in a small space. the kitchen area is tiny but sufficient while the bedroom was very spacious. it is only across the road from the river and a short walk to the dairy.

Didn't realise window was open as curtains were closed and heat pump on. So window was open all night... Sister in lounge had to go thru our room for toilet

I thought the price was a bit high for accommodation in Kawerau. Have paid less for the same, and even better accommodation in the larger centers throughout NZ. But if there's nothing else available, then beggars can't be choosers.

It was just another motel in another town to stay in. It suited our requirements.

it would’ve been nice if the room had a double bed instead of three singles

the location was great with the river accross the road, the staff were extremely nice and helping with everything.
