Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThere were work construction right next to my balcony so be ready to be awaken at 6am... it's a quiet neighborhood (no much traffic) but you can hear the neighbors talking at night and the dogs barking as the isolation is quite poor. Just my personal opinion , I think for a first time visiting the island, staying on panglao island is better as it is more dynamic and tourist friendly. The tour driver recommended by the host wasn't that great for the price I paid (1800pesos just to go chocolate hills and camugao falls). I explained to the driver I wanted to skip the traditional touristic spots and asked him to drive to kinahugan falls instead which didn't add that much distance or time compared to the traditional loop (tarsier, loboc, baclayon) but he refused insisting that it was too much drive... In the end I felt like it was a waste of money and that I could have found a better and cheaper private driver on my own for the whole day.
The host is really helpful and responsive, thank you ! The room was very clean with hot shower and water dispenser. It is close to Bohol downtown but half an hour drive to Alona beach. Easy to grab a tuk tuk to go anywhere around.

SpainThe air conditioning was a bit noisy. Since I had my earplugs, no issue with that. I'm not very keen on integrated showers with the restroom, which is typical in Asia. At least the floor was not slippery and it was spotless.
Very nice and cozy room. Balcony with views to a courtyard. The room was spotless. Wifi worked well. If you want to eat outside, I tried Gerarda's place. Highly recommended. Water dispenser outside the rooms. A tuk-tuk driver can be arranged for a tour to Balicasag.

United KingdomMr. Gomez is a lovely host, the room is clean and comfortable and there is the possibility to easily rent a scooter. The guest house is walking distance from the town center so the location is quite good, and by scooter it's easy to explore that side of Bohol. Breakfast is very nice as well, with a great selection of fresh fruits too!

PhilippinesI don't remember...
A good and quite place, strategically located very close to the city center of Tagbilaran, few good places to explore nearby "Tagbilaran Cathedral / St. Joseph the Worker Shrine and places to eat "TUNA REPUBLIC". The owner was very helpful and accomodating, too.

CanadaRoom was small but still very convenient and definitely worth the cost.
I don't recall the breakfast but believe it was perfectly acceptable. Value was the main feature for me. It was very economical considering it had everything required. I always appreciate bulk water, which they had, compared to single-use bottle. Very low motorbike rental rate as well. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in all respects, especially after having an accident.

DenmarkThe mattress will probably be too soft for most people. Internet was good most of the time, but did have some drops.
The neighborhood was quiet. Good kitchen. The host is always very helpful and goes beyond the standard service to make my stay comfortable. Whatever I needed and he was there. When I needed extra utensils for the kitchen, it was quickly provided. The breakfast was great.

PhilippinesBwaide building is currently under construction, it wasn’t noisy. However, since 2 girls are staying in the room I find it uncomfortable that we have the same level us the workers. There are curtains in the room yet still just being cautious not being seen outside.
Alan was helpful carrying our luggage to the 2nd floor. We stayed in Rm 6. The place is wallking distance to nearby restaurants such as Gerarda’s, Tuna Republik, Jose Tagbilaran, etc. Ride from their place to the city proper is P 20/pax. AC works well.

Outside of the stay, we tried the driver tour of the chocolate hills/tarsiers and didn’t love it or the driver. I think being crystal clear about the itinerary would help other guests decide if it’s the right tour for them.
Spacious rooms and kind hosts! We stayed for a night 2 separate times after long travel days and found the place very comfortable and centrally located to the ferry to other islands.
