Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe facilities need an upgrade - the AC is loud and the shower takes a while to heat up. I was also a bit surprised that the hotel didn’t offer any bottle water.
I appreciated the art deco style and the interesting history behind this hotel. It’s in a good location and the staff have been friendly and helpful.

PortugalThe fan made a lot of noise, which prevented us from sleeping. If we switched off, is bacame unbearably hot. Not that I felt the hotels area unsafe, but its an area with a lot of beggars and homeless people. It can be an uncomfortable area, especially if they are inexperienced travellers. Breakfast is very expensive.
Staff was kind.

everything! LOCATION (the hotel is easy to locate, it's near to the most important establishments like convenient stores, coffee shops, fast food chains, etc., finding public transport like cabs, or tricycle is not difficult at all in the place). STAFF (everyone is kind! those in the frontdesk, even the guards, they are all very helpful), THE ROOM (so cozy! i love the vibe, the design. there is refrigerator also and a 'kitchen' sink (other than the bathroom sink). and a large cabinet for our clothes. bathroom is spacious, no window (which i like 'coz we feel more secured), water flow rate/pressure in the shower is just right. the floor (5th Floor) we are in, is so quiet. WIFI (strong and fast!). THANK YOU, Miramar Hotel! we're planning to go back again. you're definitely on the top of our list!

PhilippinesThe room was really big for 2 person. classic and old style. Lack of light. So dimmed.. the tv were very small 12 inch i guess.. the cr was nice but old style. The carpet was also plain old style.. over all the room was a sad and lonely room. It should be lively. It attracts more lonesome and loneliness. The elevator at the 2nd floor was very old and the push button always delayed .long press..... The guard and receptionest not properly and well oriented. They just wait there guest outside of the street if it is not the time to check in. They do not even let their guest wait inside the hotel lobby . Unless if you insist and argued a lot. Kaloka.!.. very inappropriate and poor ethics. But thanks to the manager / supervisor she immediately corrected and assisted, and made us feel comfortable.. The location was very nice because it was near to chowking, mercury drugs ,711, barbers and other hotels.. very accessible and less stress.. If u have a child 12 years or below with u, allowed to be included in the room as per booking.com. But excluded in the breakfast in the hotel. Di po kasama daw yung bata sa breakfast..... so bali ang kakain is yung mga old lang na kasama..... eh yung batang kasama namin na 12 years eh lahi ng mga heganti mukhang ng dalaga. Kawawa naman walang food for her. Buti nalang may chowking na malapit. How sad. Poor policy... they should have added charges immediately in the booking.com so guest would also expect na kasama na yung breakfast ng bata since inallowed naman na kasama ang bata sa room.😔
The design of the hotel were something old classic style that makes it illegant

PhilippinesThe hotel has its charm but it seriously needs an upgrade. Rooms are so dated and something should be done with the door locks, can't feel safe with just an ordinary doorknob.
The staff were very accommodating, they are the gems of the business but they can only do so much. Management should really consider putting in money to update the hotel
