Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaThe WiFi frequently had poor connectivity. I attempted to improve the signal by walking around the room and my floor with my phone or laptop, but to no avail. Perhaps the connection was better on the first floor. However, I managed to find a café near the main square, Green Caffe Nero, which offered excellent internet and served good coffee. It's a great alternative for anyone needing a reliable workspace.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Golden Lion Guest Rooms Szewska 19. The host was exceptionally kind, providing me with all the necessary information during check-in. The room itself was perfect for a solo traveler - clean, well-sized, and reasonably priced. One of the highlights of the facility is its two kitchens, allowing guests to prepare their meals as they please. While having more cutlery would be a welcome addition, what was provided was sufficient for my needs. The location couldn't have been better; just a few steps from the main square. However, it's worth noting that the area can get quite noisy at night, typical of the vibrant Krakow city center. Nonetheless, this is beyond the control of the host, and I came prepared with earplugs. In conclusion, my stay offered excellent value for money, and despite the minor inconvenience of noise, I would highly recommend Golden Lion Guest Rooms Szewska 19 to fellow travelers.

United KingdomThe only thing I did not like was there seems to be no sound proofing. The hotel is sat in a popular street in the old town which is fabulous. However this means that it is busy all hours of the night (at least it seems on Friday- Sunday when we visited). So the street were noisy and you could hear other residents loudly. One person in our block put opera on loudly but I couldn’t quite tell if it was outside or inside because depending where you were in the room, you could hear noises from all directions. I did manage to sleep though and occasionally woken up, but if your a light sleeper/ have trouble sleeping in general you might want to pick a quieter spot.
The guest house has all you need, towels, hair dryer and has a kitchen where you can use the stuff and provide different types of coffee which was nice. The staff are very friendly and this nice man called Conrad has a lot of information about Cracow which supported us in planning for things to do.

United KingdomThere were no major issues that would in any way go against the hotel and I would still highly recommend it! It should be stated clearly, there's no elevator. I realized it only when we arrived at the hotel, but it is mentioned in the hotel description. The beds could be maybe a little bit comfier and the TV was missing from our room, but as we brought our own laptop, it was not really a big deal. I'm also sure, if we've mentioned it to the owner, he would do his best to get something organised, so I wouldn't hold it against him. The internet connection is currently undergoing modernisation and at the time of our visit it was a bit patchy. This made our working remotely from Krakow a little bit harder but we've managed. I've mentioned these few shortcomings, just so everyone knows what to expect. Despite all of them I would still stay in this hotel again.
The hotel is located in a genuine old building in the old town. For this very reason the property has a lot of character typical for the period it was built in. A huge bonus was the modern bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. There are 2 kitchens (located in the common areas) which are very well equipped with the oven, the microwave, plates, cutlery, coffee makers etc. The owner is extremely helpful and accommodating. He's a very pleasant man who's willing to meet his guests' needs, whenever he can. The location itself is superb. We could see the old town market from our window. There are many lovely restaurants in the area, a mini supermarket literally across the street and it's about 2 minutes walking distance from the tram stop. It's also within walking distance from Galeria Krakowska if you're looking for a bit of retail therapy which is also a location of the main railway station. The place is really clean and even though the towels were not changed daily, you could get the fresh ones on demand with no extra charge and cleaning staff was very pleasant and helpful. A lot of people complained about the noise from the street. Well, to be fair, it was a bit noisy until about midnight. Then it was usually going quiet. There were few minor issues, but I would still consider this hotel as excellent, when you take into account the location and the price.

CroatiaNoisy at night and the bed was really uncomfortable, kind of broken mattress
Location is great for one side, you can walk everywhere and find yourself nearby your room if you need anything. On the other side, it's located in the busiest street for clubs and nightlight of Krakow, you'll find drunk people in the morning nearby and you'll hear them all night if you get a room like mine, facing the street. Price is good for what it offers though
